The end of school is marked for many graduates by the beginning of a new life stage - admission to the From Choice educational institution the future of the child largely depends, and therefore it must be done consciously. And the first thing you should pay attention to is not the reviews or the reputation of the university, but the compliance of the chosen direction of training with the profile of the institution.

The direction of training at the university - what is it?

Surprisingly, when deciding on a place to receive higher education, it is important to focus on professional programs. The profile of the institution determines the presence of certain disciplines in accordance with the requirements. Before applying for admission to the selected university, you must first familiarize yourself with its educational program.

So, what does the direction of preparation mean? To implement the fundamental curricula The Russian Ministry of Education and Science approved the standards, so each level of higher education today has its own GEF. Accordingly, it is unacceptable to conduct undergraduate or specialist studies according to the standards of graduate or postgraduate studies. Thus, our country guarantees the functionality of the created system of professional personnel of various profiles and specializations that the National economy and the business sector.

The relationship of GEF and specialties

Each GEF provides for dozens of integrated areas of training, which, in turn, include several specialties. For example, 11.00.00 "Electronics, communication systems and radio engineering" is a basic enlarged area with specialties:

  • 11.03.01 "Radio engineering".
  • 11.03.02 Nanoelectronics.
  • 11.03.03 "Design of electronic means".
  • 03/11/04 "Communication and infocommunication systems".

Profiles of directions and specializations at universities

Next, we should name the division into profiles according to the direction of education provided for federal standards. At the same time, everyone has the right to create unique education profiles in the appropriate order and approve them in the Ministry.

For example, specialty profiles 01.03.04 "Applied Mathematics" can be offered at the university as follows:

  • Provision of mathematical and algorithmic systems and information technologies.
  • Mathematical technique in information technologies.
  • Applied informatics in chemistry.
  • Modeling and mathematical methods in economics.
  • Provision of artificial intelligent systems and programming.

How does a profile differ from directions and specialties?

As already mentioned, the choice of the direction of training and specialty must be approached responsibly. In spite of common blocks fundamental disciplines included in the educational program of profiles of a particular specialization, each of them has unique subjects that take into account the specifics of the graduate's profession in the future. That is why, getting acquainted with the list of areas of study, applicants should know that all of them can include dozens of profiles. For clarity, as an example, consider the specialty "Construction", which suggests options for professions in the areas of construction that have nothing in common with each other:

  • "Construction of hydraulic structures".
  • "Construction of industrial buildings".
  • "Construction of hydroelectric power plants and pumping stations."
  • "Urban construction and economy".
  • Real Estate Expertise and Management.
  • "Laying highways and construction of airfields.
  • "Ventilation and engineering systems".
  • "Construction and computer modeling".

How to choose the right future profession?

Thus, it is necessary to get acquainted with the educational program long before submitting documents to the university. After all, having received an idea about the professional block of disciplines of the curriculum, it is easy to guess what profession the graduate of the institution will become the owner of.

At this stage, it is important not to make a mistake with the direction of training and profile, respectively. Often illegible applicants are often confused by the fact that the specialties have almost identical names, despite the cardinal differences in the blocks of professional disciplines. As a result, students acquire knowledge that does not correspond to their initial aspirations and plans, which means that upon leaving the university they receive unequal opportunities for successful career growth.

Where can I find information about profiles and specialties in an educational institution?

A list of areas of study and specialties can be found on the official website of almost any university, but it is unlikely that you will be able to quickly find profiles and corresponding educational programs. The thing is that the statutory documents of institutions are required to publish data on quotas for budgetary and contract places in a particular specialty. The university may not detail the professional programs related to each direction. At the same time, most educational institutions with a transparent reputation do not hide the profiles of education and indicate them in the "Admission Committee" section.

This information may be contained in another section of the site. Often information about profiles is present in the description of the university itself, its structure. But if the list of areas of training and specialties of higher professional education is open and accessible to every visitor to the site, then information about profiles is often deliberately hidden from applicants. The reason for this may be the unpopularity and lack of demand for a certain educational program in comparison with a specialty that sounds more prestigious and attractive to applicants. Such an unscrupulous step is undoubtedly beneficial to the university.

The main differences between the specialty and the profile direction

By the way, in the context of the above, it is worth noting that the majority of applicants do not see fundamental differences in the concepts of "direction" and the actual "specialty". In fact, these two terms do not have much in common. The main difference lies in the difference in training periods. In accordance with the knowledge in the areas, bachelors and masters receive four and two years, respectively. Here rather in question about the form of education that meets European standards and provides students with the widest range of opportunities for building a personal learning plan. Thus, by the time they graduate from undergraduate studies, students become holders of diplomas of higher education, which allows them to officially find a job.

But for those graduates who would like to continue their studies to improve their qualifications or change their professional direction, there is a master's program. Upon completion, a graduate can become the owner of two professions and two diplomas of higher education.

How not to make a mistake when applying for a particular specialty?

When choosing a specialization and profile, only attentiveness and caution will save the applicant from making a mistake. Unscrupulous educational institutions, in order to increase income, sometimes include profiles in the list of professional programs that do not correspond to their general specialization.

The most common and profitable in terms of a commercial delivery system educational services profiles are "Design", "Economics", "Management", "Jurisprudence", and therefore, when entering a university for which these specialties are not core ones, one should not lose vigilance and be on the alert - it is likely that this educational organization aims to improve the financial situation.

As a rule, universities that train technologists or biologists, builders and engineers do not enroll students in fundamentally different areas of study from the basic ones.

The main signs that the direction does not correspond to the profile of the university

Of course, there are exceptions to all rules, but in order not to fall for deception, it is advisable to conduct a serious analysis of the establishment before submitting documents. Particular attention should be paid to the following points:

  • there are no budget places on the selected profile;
  • the number of contract places significantly prevails over other specializations;
  • a completely unique profile name that is not found in other universities (this can, of course, be a sign of a unique training program at a specialized university, but it can also have another goal - to replace ordinary content with an unusual name in order to stand out from the background).

For the most part, higher education institutions have a balance of contract and free places for a particular specialty. Demanded universities have more state-funded places for students than paid ones. The predominance of contract places for programs over free ones is a reason for additional collection of information on the quality of educational services provided in this organization.

How important is the right choice of professional direction and specialty?

Having familiarized yourself with the list of specialties and areas of higher education, remember that the university is not only a place of study for students. Each university can be called a place of accumulation of knowledge, development scientific school and the formation of new ideas about scientific and technological progress, culture and art. However, it is impossible to concentrate forces in all directions at the same time.

The activities of institutes, academies and universities, proven over decades, are based on their core profile. Making a decision to enter a non-core Educational establishment, a potential student is at serious risk of receiving an insufficiently high level of education. The right choice of a professional program and specialty is a chance to make your dream come true and become what you have wanted since your school days.

Motivation in education. Problem sketch

Today, many students and schoolchildren do not strive to show great diligence in studying subjects. This indicates their weak motivation for learning. If you ask the students themselves, they often answer that the knowledge they receive in educational institutions does not have much practical significance, and still they will not find a use for them in life, or they are simply not interested in them. This answer, heard from schoolchildren, is justified to some extent, but students of universities, colleges and other specialized institutions are not particularly.

And how important is this issue? We will answer - strongly, and we will answer why. Students are the future highly qualified employees of our country, their lack of motivation at the training stage threatens the absence of truly qualified employees, as a result of which the country's economy may lose its competitiveness in the future.

In order to understand what a modern student needs, one must again ask the student himself a question, only ask him “correctly”. Such a “correct” way of asking a question can be a questionnaire. Fortunately, we got the result of a survey in one of the universities in Ukraine at the department of management among students. Of course, this is not a full-scale study, but nevertheless it makes it possible to somehow evaluate the picture.

Below is a diagram (Fig. 1) of the reasons for entering a university, conditionally divided into groups.

Rice. 1 Distribution of students into groups depending on the reasons for admission

There are 6 groups in total.

  1. "Interest" - received from the interest in the specialty.
  2. "Acquaintances" - acted on the advice of parents, relatives, friends or acquaintances.
  3. "Perspective" - considered this specialty promising.
  4. "Uncertainty" - they did not know where to go at all.
  5. "Prestige" - they considered the specialty prestigious.
  6. Reason not specified.

From such responses, one should expect that only from the "Interest" group one should expect the desire to highly rated and gaining knowledge, but fortunately we do not have to guess, everything is shown in fig. 2.

Rice. 2 Student performance

A small explanation should be made, in the course of the survey, the distribution of marks was very conditional, so it should be considered as follows:

  • 1 is an "excellent student";
  • 2 - "good";
  • 3 - the average rating is satisfactory, sometimes there are ratings of "good";
  • 4 - practically a "loser".

After these values were averaged, and the diagram shown in Fig. 2.

Based on the results, it can be seen that even those who entered the university out of their own interest do not study “excellently”. As a result, it should be noted that there are only ¼ of all students, which is undoubtedly a small number.

So, let's summarize what can change this situation. Today, VO is tacitly mandatory, which is why everyone goes to universities in a row, which is not quite the right approach. More attention should be paid to the motivation of students, and not proceed from the definition that they are inherently motivated. In fact, these are the most important conclusions.

Motivation in education. Motivational student profile

In the last article, the problem of motivation in education was considered and approximately what students want, but there is little general data to build the correct system for stimulating students. So the task is determine specifically what students want to further build an incentive system.

For this task, it is necessary to determine the tool with which you can solve the problem. A motivational profile was chosen as such a tool. So, first of all, what is a motivational profile?

Motivational Profile is an individual combination of motivating factors of a person. This definition was put forward after studying the work of S. Ritchie and P. Martin "Motivation Management". This work is the result of their 20-year study of motivation among management personnel. As part of their study, they used a 12-factor motivational profile model. Based on the definition of the motivational profile, it turns out that it consists of n-factors motivating personality, but in order to build some kind of general picture, an adequate model should be adopted for the group under study and depending on the purpose of the study.

Based on the previous article, the study group is the students of the Department of Management of one of the universities of Ukraine, the purpose of the study is to identify the factors of their motivation. S. Ritchie and P. Martin in their study had a similar group, so the model they established was chosen.

  1. The need for high earnings, material rewards and material benefits.
  2. The need for comfortable physical working conditions.
  3. The need for structured work, feedback and information about one's own work, reducing the degree of uncertainty associated with work.
  4. Need for social contacts easy communication with a wide range of people.
  5. The need for stable long-term relationships with a small group of people.
  6. The need for recognition of merit, the acquisition of social significance.
  7. The need to achieve and set challenging goals for yourself.
  8. The need to influence and control others.
  9. The need for diversity and change, that is, the desire to constantly feel stimulating interest.
  10. The need for independence, independence and self-improvement of one's personality.
  11. The need for creativity and open-mindedness.
  12. The need for interesting and useful work for society.

If you carefully study this model, then it may resemble the fragmented pyramid of A. Maslow, only without observing the order.

Using the survey data, a diagram was constructed (Fig. 1) of the importance of each of the factors according to the selected model.

Rice. 1 Motivational profile of a university student

How to read a chart? At the bottom, motivational factors from the model we have chosen are signed in order, the height of the columns depends on the average value according to all answers to the respondents reflecting this question, 0 - means an absolute lack of interest in this factor, 3 - an excellent desire for this factor, respectively, the higher the bar, the more important it is. Also on the diagram you can find a dotted line, it is conditional and means that factors that have a value below it can not even be considered. The error is about 12-13%.

Based on the diagram, four main motivating points can be conditionally distinguished:

  • money;
  • comfortable conditions;
  • maintaining relationships with loved ones;
  • possibility of creative activity.

So, we have a detailed portrait of the student's motivation, it remains to build a system of his stimulation, which we will do in the next article.

Stimulation- this is an external way of influencing a person's motivation. The incentive in education should increase the motivation to learn in those who receive given education. It is this issue that will be covered in the final article of the cycle "Motivation in Education".

Introduction. In 2015, the Republic of Belarus joined the European Higher Education Area. The Bologna Agreements provide for an individual choice of a "learning path" by students, and this largely depends on their individual characteristics.

The success of professional training of future teachers of physical culture is determined by the need to take into account the individual psychological characteristics of the personality of the individual, the level of motivation, the functioning of mental processes, the vital manifestations of the main properties nervous system, temperament, character of students. Usually in the classroom they try to solve problems through a system of external influences, setting the students the optimal rate of physical activity. However, a significant drawback is that this does not take into account the individual and personal characteristics of those involved.

The basis for the differentiation of the educational process should be made by taking into account the individual characteristics of the individual in order to organize training not so much according to various programs and plans, but the use of various means, methods, methodological techniques for selected groups and individual students.

Most often in the process of physical education, a variant of relative individualization is used, when individual characteristics not each individual student, but groups with similar features and their complexes. According to L.V. Diorditsa, B.P. Yakovlev, the organization of learning based on a student-centered approach means that all methodological decisions of the teacher should be refracted through the prism of the student's personality.

Therefore, it was decided to identify the personal profiles of students of the Faculty of Organizing a Healthy Lifestyle (HLLS) of Polesie State University with different levels of knowledge.

factor A: sociability - isolation;
factor B: high intelligence - low intelligence;
factor C: emotional stability - emotional instability;

factor E: dominance - subordination;
factor F: expressiveness - restraint;
factor G: liability - bad faith;
factor H: courage - timidity;
factor I: sensitivity - hardness;
factor L: suspicion - gullibility;
factor M: daydreaming - practicality;
factor N: prudence - straightforwardness;
factor O: anxiety - self-confidence;
factor Qi: radicalism - conservatism;
factor Q2: independence - dependence on the group;
factor Q3: high self-control - low self-control;
factor Q4: tension - relaxation.

The maximum score for each factor is 12 points, for factor B - 8 points. When interpreting the data, attention is paid, first of all, to the "peaks" of the profile, that is, the lowest and highest values of the factors, especially those indicators that are in the "negative" pole in the range from 1 to 4 points, and in the "positive" - from 7 to 10 points.

Rice. Personal profiles of students of the 4th year of HLS with different levels of knowledge

A total of 110 students of the 4th year of the Healthy Lifestyles of the Polessky State University were examined. Based on the results of the examination sessions, we identified the following groups: with a high level of knowledge - the average score for passing exams was from 8 to 10 (n=16); average level of knowledge - average exam score from 5 to 8 (n=64) and low level knowledge - the average exam score is less than 5 points (n=30) and to determine the average personality profile and their differences in these groups (figure).

Analyzing the presented material, it can be noted that students of all groups do not differ significantly in most factors. What struck us the most was that the profiles of the high and low knowledge groups practically have the same configuration. In these groups, there is a "positive" peak in factor L (distrustful, stubborn, prudent in actions, more immersed in one's own "I", less care for other people) and two "negative" peaks in factor I (independent, practical, has a sense of responsibility) and the Qi factor (conservative, tolerant of traditional difficulties, convinced of the correctness of what he was taught). Students of the group with a high level of knowledge excel everyone in factor A (ease of communication, willingness to cooperate, preference for socially significant activities), factor C (great emotional stability, activity, sobriety in assessing reality). In the group of students with an average level of knowledge, a smoother profile is observed, having peaks only in the O factor (anxious, especially in difficult situations, worried) and the Q1 factor.

Conclusion. The results of this study confirm the existing opinion that one should not focus only on average group indicators. As we can see from the figure, students achieve success or failure with similar individual psychological characteristics. We by no means deny the need and importance of a differentiated approach. If there is a clear tendency for success to depend on one or another indicator, for example, on the level of development of physical qualities, then why not unite those involved in groups with a low or high level of development of conditioning abilities. In a study on students of the 4th year of the Health and Healthy Lifestyle of PolesGU, such a pattern according to personal qualities not detected. And this means that it is necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of each student to a greater extent. Although it is very difficult, it is impossible to do without it, teachers must take into account individual characteristics and offer students accessible tasks, that is, individualize the process of education and upbringing.

PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORT OF YOUTH STUDENTS IN MODERN CONDITIONS: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT. Collection of scientific papers of the participants of the X International Scientific and Practical Conference, December 2015, Tula

We continue the cycle of interviews with experts from various areas law and economics, who are ready to help students go through the difficult path of choosing a professional profile.

This time, she volunteered to help the students, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, Head. Marina Anatolyevna Shtatina, Department of Administrative Law of the Russian State University of Justice. She spoke about one of the profiles in demand on the labor market - in the field of administrative and legal regulation.

ConsultantPlus: Please tell us how students at your university choose a department, which, as we understand it, determines the choice of a profile? How much time is given to them to think and make a decision? Do departments provide assistance to students in choosing a specialization, and what is this assistance?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: In the Russian state university Justice students choose one of three profiles - public law, civil law or criminal law. A deeper study of administrative law and disciplines related to administrative and legal regulation is carried out, first of all, in the state-legal profile. However, other students continue to study the norms and institutions of administrative law. So, in the civil law profile, the Code of Administrative Procedure is being studied. Russian Federation, a number of administrative procedures (for example, state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) and administrative agreements, and on the criminal law profile, the issues of distinguishing between crimes and administrative offenses are clarified. This approach fully reflects the features of modern administrative law, which actively interacts with other legal branches and is inextricably linked with everyday life society and every individual.

Students choose a profile in the first semester of their second year, but may change their mind during their second year. The study of specialized (variable) disciplines at our university begins from the second semester of the third year.

Both teachers and employees of the dean's office help students choose a profile - they never refuse consultations on issues of interest to students. At the same time, both general consultations are held for the entire course, as well as individual conversations with any student who applied to the department. The conferences and round tables on various problems of the development of science and law enforcement practice, which are widely distributed at our university, contribute to the right (and for each student it is his own) choice.

ConsultantPlus: Is there "voluntariness" in the choice of department? If the majority of students express a desire to specialize in one department, does the administration take any steps in this case?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: Full-time law students enrolled in the undergraduate program have to choose from only three profiles, so there have been no problems with the formation of groups so far, and the principle of voluntariness is strictly observed. At the same time, several groups of students can be recruited according to one profile, depending on the number of applications submitted. However, local acts establish the rule that in the absence of the minimum required number of students who have expressed a desire to choose variable disciplines of one profile, it will not be opened.

ConsultantPlus: What do you think students should be guided by when choosing a profile? What should they pay attention to first of all: their interest in a particular area of law, its popularity or prospects?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: When choosing a profile, you should consider each of the factors you mentioned. But, in my opinion, the most important thing is that the student likes the subjects that he will have to study additionally. A profile for a bachelor is not a specialty or even a specialization in which specialists are trained. The main purpose of the profile is not so much the acquisition of knowledge as its deepening and the development of skills for their application, including through transformation theoretical knowledge into legal and reasonable decisions that are acceptable and appropriate in certain situations. The profile does not limit the student, but develops him, helping to acquire the skills necessary in any professional activity lawyer. The optimal solution of these problems is possible only with the personal interest of the student.

But it also happens that a student does not have pronounced professional interests and preferences. In this case, you need to try to determine which types of legal activities associated with a particular profile are consonant with the aspirations, value orientations, as well as personal characteristics, including the temperament of the student. Thus, the study of administrative law requires a study of very a large number acts and documents, which are also constantly changing and supplementing. For students who are slow and not focused on overcoming difficulties, an in-depth study of administrative law will put them in a position of choice: either constantly experience discomfort, or change and become more resilient and purposeful.

Least of all, I would recommend paying attention to the popularity of a certain profession or branch of knowledge. Many people go to the popular sphere, as a result, there is huge competition. If you become a unique specialist in this area, you can succeed. But if you dreamed of a different field or, due to your personal characteristics, were disposed to other activities, then in a popular area that has not become close to you, you will rather fail.

ConsultantPlus: What happens after a student chooses your department? What does this choice imply: an in-depth study of some disciplines, writing a thesis, or doing some other work?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: The choice of a state-legal profile assumes that the student will study in depth constitutional, municipal and administrative law and such special disciplines as administrative procedures, administrative offenses, migration law.

At our university, bachelors, in contrast to students enrolled in specialist programs, theses do not write.

ConsultantPlus: What gives the student this choice in the future? Does the choice of profile affect the subsequent employment? Does this choice mean that the future specialist will be able to work only in this area? How much is a specialist in administrative law valued in Russia today compared to other legal specialists?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: Once again, I want to emphasize that at present the choice of a profile does not limit the student in any way, since when applying for a job, he has knowledge of the specialty (jurisprudence), and not the profile of education. but competitive selection, practiced by many private organizations and in many cases required for admission to public service, dictates the appropriate conditions.

Currently, many graduates aspire to get into the civil service, and knowledge of administrative law is required there. All private organizations interact with government agencies and officials, so specialists who are ready for such professional interaction receive appropriate benefits. Recently, the Code of Administrative Procedure of the Russian Federation was adopted and entered into force, which also raised a number of questions for judicial practice. There is currently a shortage of administrative law specialists.

State and municipal employees must have the appropriate education and undergo professional training or retraining related to public administration and administrative law. All ministries need specialists who know the technique of preparing legal acts of management.

ConsultantPlus: In your opinion, what character traits should a specialist who has chosen this profile have? What do you think, who is contraindicated to be a lawyer?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: Persons successfully involved in the branches of public law have a special mindset, characterized by the ability to see common patterns, highlight common interests.

ConsultantPlus: How do you feel about modern information technology? Do you think it is necessary for an administrative law lawyer to know reference legal systems? Why?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: A lawyer specializing in the study of administrative law must constantly refer to the information contained in legal reference systems. A huge amount of legal regulation is neither mastered nor systematized manually at present. In addition, administrative law is not limited to the letter of the law, but also studies its application and authorities. executive power, and the courts.

ConsultantPlus: What advice would you give to your students and students from other universities who have opted for an administrative profile? What should they prepare for, what qualities of character to develop, whom to focus on in the profession, what disciplines should they pay special attention to in order to become a successful lawyer in the future?

Shtatina Marina Anatolyevna: For those who choose an in-depth study of administrative law and will prepare themselves for managerial activities, such qualities as sympathy, the desire to understand a person are very important. Since it is difficult to find such a branch of law that would change as rapidly as administrative law, I would wish everyone who chooses a state legal profile to develop the strength and flexibility of the mind in order to be ready not only to respond to the challenges of the time, but to anticipate and shape them .

I sincerely wish all law students high goals, clear thoughts, a firm character, and a positive attitude.
