Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies (SGUGiT)- federal state budgetary educational institution higher education. It has state accreditation until 02/27/2025.

SGUGiT is one of the leading technical universities Novosibirsk, leading the training of engineers, bachelors and masters in the field of geodesy, cadastre, cartography, remote sensing, etc.

Story

The Novosibirsk Institute of Geodesy, Aerial Photography and Cartography Engineers was founded in February 1933 as the Omsk Geodetic Institute. Over time, this institute was relocated to Novosibirsk and in 1939 was renamed the Novosibirsk Institute of Engineers of Geodesy, Aerial Photography and Cartography (NIIGAiK). After MIIGAiK in Moscow, it was the second geodetic university in our country.

In the first year, 50 students were enrolled. Training was also carried out during the war. In 1948, the specialty engineering geodesy was created. In 1960, NIGAiK accepted 400 students and put 100 graduates into practice. The Faculty was later organized distance learning.

In 1968, the planetarium equipment was transferred to NIIGAiK. The device "Small Zeiss" was mounted by the mechanics of the Moscow Planetarium in the "Star Hall" and began to be serviced by employees of the Department of Astronomy and Gravimetry of NIIGAiK under the direction of V. A. Merkushev. Lectures were held not only for students of NIIGAiK, but also for residents of the city.

Since 1977, vocational training has been carried out foreign students. In 1982, the first graduation of citizens of Mongolia and Cuba took place, students in applied geodesy, cartography and astronomical geodesy.

From 1982 to the present, about three hundred foreign citizens from Cuba, Mongolia, Hungary, Germany, Syria, China, Vietnam, and Laos have received engineering, bachelor's, and master's degrees at SSUGiT (NIIGAiK).

With its qualified teaching staff NIIGAiK had a large share in the education of young personnel in geodesy and cartography in our country.

In 1991, the Technical Lyceum was opened at the academy, where schoolchildren of 9th, 10th and 11th grades study.

In 1994, NIIGAiK was renamed into the Siberian State Geodetic Academy (SSGA).

Since 2005, the Siberian State Geodetic Academy and ITE Siberian Fair have become partners in organizing and holding the international specialized exhibition and scientific congress "Interexpo GEO-Siberia".

On November 28, 2009, the first Rector's Ball was held at the SSCA, which was decided to be made an annual event.

The university has more than 50 special laboratories equipped with instruments and equipment. Graduating departments of the university have 10 branches in different research institutes, factories, enterprises of the city of Novosibirsk and the Computing Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Training and production training of specialists is carried out at four educational and scientific bases, in production organizations and training and production workshops, factories and research institutes. The university has a publishing base that provides the issuance of educational literature and scientific collections under license in the amount of 300-400 printed sheets per year.

The university has a scientific and technical library of a geodesic profile with a volume of about 400 thousand volumes, which has a collection of publications of geodesic literature that is unique in Russia. Specialized councils for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations work at SGUGiT, in which dissertations can be defended in the following scientific specialties:

  • aerospace research of the Earth, photogrammetry
  • geoinformatics
  • land management, cadastre and land monitoring
  • metrology and metrological support.

State budgetary and contractual research projects are carried out annually on 70..75 topics. SGUGiT is a member of three international associations, has fruitful contacts and agreements with educational institutions in Slovakia, Mongolia, organizations in Germany, Switzerland, USA, China and other countries.

In 2014, a unique technology for three-dimensional (3D) terrain scanning was completed and tested. Monitoring of the construction of the Bugrinsky bridge was carried out with the help of SGUGiT. 3D scanning allows you to monitor objects of any size and shape. Sibfilm video company made a film about 3D scanning technology in Novosibirsk . This video was watched by Russian President V.V. Putin during the opening of the Bugrinsky bridge.

In the largest scientific and educational center of our country - the city of Novosibirsk, there is a unique educational institution - the Siberian State Geodetic Academy. There are only two such universities in Russia, and there are only five of them in the world! We have something to be proud of - we are proud of our graduates who work in the vast expanses of our Motherland and many continents of the world! AT modern conditions The demand for specialists from our university is constantly growing, and this is the basis for stability and career growth.

The Academy not only formed a school for training professional personnel in basic specialties, but also managed to find an important link in the training of professions that are non-traditional for the profile of the university - this is the economics of tourism and hotel management, environmental economics, real estate economics and organization management.

At present, the SSCA is a major educational and scientific center not only national, but also international. Structurally, the academy is a diversified holding that includes five institutions: the Institute of Geodesy and Management, the Institute of Optics and Optical Technologies, the Institute of Cadastre and Geoinformation Systems, the Institute of Remote Sensing and Nature Management, the Institute distance learning.

AT educational process information technologies are actively used, display classes, multimedia lecture audiences function. There are specialized laboratories equipped with modern instruments and equipment. Great importance is given to professional retraining in the popular block of programs in the field of geodesy, cadastre, land management, real estate and data processing of remote sensing of the earth.

The Academy has partnerships with leading oil and gas producing and mining companies, with many administrations of the constituent entities of the Siberian Federal District and other regions. Qualified specialists perform a wide range of production and research work using modern technologies. Currently, the academy specialists are implementing a vital GLONASS / GPS project, which includes the deployment of 19 active base stations on the territory of Novosibirsk region. Our students have great opportunities for internships in large Russian companies during their studies. We have no problems with the employment of our graduates.
