Primary score. Primary and test (secondary) USE scores: what is the difference? What is the minimum score

Upon delivery of the Unified state exam(USE) a special place is occupied by the minimum score of the USE. This is the minimum threshold of knowledge in USE scores, upon overcoming which a USE certificate is issued in compulsory subjects. Or in other words, this is the USE score corresponding to a satisfactory mark. In case of receiving a score less than the minimum in subjects of choice, nothing is entered into the certificate. The minimum USE score in all subjects is set annually after passing the exam before the announcement of the results.

However, each university has the right to set the minimum USE score higher than recommended by Rosobrnadzor. The difference can reach 20-40 points and even more. For example, in order to enter the St. Petersburg National Research Academic University in 2018, you will need to score at least 65 points on the Unified State Examination in the Russian language and at least 75 points on the Unified State Examination in mathematics and physics. At the same time, in universities subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the minimum USE scores in one subject may differ depending on the specialty and location of the university (region): the minimum threshold for universities located in Moscow, the Moscow Region and St. higher.

Scale for transferring USE scores 2018 in all subjects

In order to convert primary scores into test scores, a special table is required developed by Rosobrnadzor (Appendix No. 2 to the order Federal Service on supervision in the field of education and science dated April 26, 2017 No. 920-10). It is called "Correspondence between primary scores and test scores in all academic subjects according to a hundred-point grading system."

Meanwhile, in any rule there is an exception, it was found here too. This is the exam in mathematics basic level. The results of this exam are given in primary scores and translated into a five-point scoring system.

We translate the USE test scores into a school grade

Officially, the scale for converting scores in USE subjects into a five-point grade has not been used for a long time (namely, since 2008). However, many still want to interpret their result in a more familiar "school" system. To do this, you can use the table below or online calculators.

Is it possible to retake the exam in compulsory subjects in 2018

Yes, 2018 graduates can retake the USE in a compulsory subject. Examinations in Russian language and mathematics are obligatory. But the procedure for conducting the state final certification in Russia does not allow retaking the exam to improve the result for everyone who wishes it.

The order is strict, and it looks like this:

  • you can retake the exam in only one of the two compulsory subjects,
  • The exam can be retaken only if the grade is unsatisfactory.

Thus, if a graduate failed both mandatory exams: both Russian and mathematics, retake on reserve dates at the end of June will not be possible for him. If unsatisfactory grades are obtained in both compulsory subjects, the student will be able to go for a retake only in September, when the autumn wave of retaking the mandatory USE takes place.

Modern exams are evaluated not on a five-point system, but on a hundred-point system. This means that you don't have to talk about the usual grades: twos, threes, fours, fives. An exam is considered failed if the threshold set for that exam is not passed. And for each subject this border is different. You can get an acceptable final score for yourself, but "fill up" the exam, losing the opportunity to enter a higher educational institution.

What are primary USE scores?

Each exam has its own structure. Unified State Examination various subjects differs in the total number of tasks, the format of the test part, the complexity of tasks with a detailed answer. Assignments can be assessed by different numbers of points. This also applies test items different type: for the simplest of them you can get one point, for the most difficult - up to four or five points. It's about about primary scores.

Primary scores are the scores by which the student's responses are evaluated. If you can get up to two points for the correct performance of a task, these are not the two points that, together with others, add up to one hundred points. Quantity primary points everywhere is different and depends only on the structure of the exam, but this figure is always less than one hundred. By the way, the exam foreign languages is an exception - there is no scale for transferring points and other subtleties, which means that the primary score can be considered final.

How many primary scores in the Unified State Examination in the Russian language?

The test part of the Russian language exam - 33 primary points.

The written part of the Russian language exam - 24 primary points.

In the Unified State Examination in the Russian language 57 primary points. Moreover, each score (as in any other exam USE format) has the same "value". It doesn't matter in which part you earned points: when transferring to a hundred-point system, this is not taken into account.

What are secondary (test) USE scores?

It is no coincidence that the site has a scale for translating scores in Russian. With its help, primary scores become secondary. And this happens very simply: with the help of a special table, the primary scores are converted into test scores - a hundred-point system. - document, the requirements of which must be fulfilled. Not people are engaged in the transfer of points: the required value is calculated by a computer.

Secondary (test) scores are scores in a hundred-point grading system. It is by them that the fact of passing the exam (passing the threshold) is determined. On test scores, applicants enter universities. Secondary points are in direct proportion to the primary ones - the more primary points scored, the higher the final result.

How to convert primary points to secondary?

As mentioned above, for this you need to use . You can’t do without it: a difference of one primary score can raise or lower the final score by one or more points. It all depends on the number of primary points scored: in different parts of the table, the "price" of the primary point varies.

To get the maximum score - 100 points - for the Russian language exam, you must complete all tasks without errors. This is the scale of translation. But in the math exam, you can not do all the tasks correctly, but get the highest mark.

Each graduate is well aware that in order to successfully enter the specialty of interest, it is necessary to prepare well for the Unified State Examination 2018 and score the highest possible points. What does it mean to “pass the exam well” and how many points will be enough to compete for a budget place in a particular university? This will be discussed in this article.

We will cover the following important questions:

First of all, it is important to understand what exists:

  • the minimum score that gives the right to receive a certificate;
  • the minimum score that allows you to apply to the university;
  • the minimum score sufficient for real income to the budget in a particular specialty at a particular university in Russia.

Naturally, these figures differ significantly.

Minimum certification score

The minimum attestation scores of the Unified State Examination are set for compulsory subjects - the Russian language and mathematics at the basic level, and in 2018 are:

Having overcome this threshold, but not reaching the minimum test score, the examinee will receive a certificate, but will not be able to apply to the university.

Minimum test score

The test minimum is the threshold value that gives the right to enter the university. In other words, persons who have overcome the test threshold theoretically have the right to join the fight for budget places. Although, in practice, it is almost impossible to enter highly rated universities with minimal performance.

In 2018, in all subjects, except for the Russian language and basic mathematics, the test minimum USE scores coincide with the attestation ones and are:

The principle of calculating the success of passing the unified state exam assumes that the subject must demonstrate a high, average or sufficient level of knowledge, corresponding to grades "5", "4" and "3" in the school scale.

In case of an unsatisfactory result, as well as when passing a score that the examinee considers insufficient for himself, graduates are given the right to retake the exam.

Minimum score for admission to the budget

Most universities announce the threshold score required for applicants for a budget place. This allows each applicant to realistically assess the prospects for admission and choose universities and specialties based on the points scored in the USE.

In 2018, you can focus on the fact that last season the average passing scores in all subjects of the Unified State Examination among applicants who entered MGIMO and other highly rated universities in the capital fluctuated between the threshold value of 80-90. But, for most regional universities of the Russian Federation, 65-75 points can already be considered a competitive result.

Converting the primary score to the resulting one

By completing the tasks proposed in the USE ticket, the examinee gains the so-called primary scores, the maximum value of which varies depending on the subject. When evaluating the level of knowledge, such primary scores are converted into the resulting ones, which are entered in the certificate and are basic upon admission.

Via online calculator, you can compare primary and test scores in subjects of interest.

Just like last year, in 2018 recruited with passing the exam scores affect the score of the certificate and, although the table for comparing the test score and traditional marks is not officially accepted, you can approximately compare your scores right now using the universal calculator.

Please note that the average passing scores for different specialties in the same university can vary significantly. This figure reflects the minimum score of applicants who entered the budget, and tends to change every year. The results of 2017 can only serve as a guideline for applicants in 2018, motivating them to achieve the highest possible results.

There are many factors that affect the minimum passing score, including:

  1. the total number of graduates who have applied and the scores indicated on their certificates;
  2. the number of applicants who provided original documents;
  3. the number of beneficiaries.

So, having seen your last name in 20th place in the list of a specialty that provides for 40 budget places, you can confidently consider yourself a student. But, even if you find yourself on this list of 45, there is no reason to be upset if among those standing in front of you there are 5-10 people who provided copies of documents, because most likely these people are tuned to another university and applied for this specialty as a fallback .

Grading system USE results is not easy: instead of the usual "fours" and "fives" you will encounter primary and test scores. What is the primary and test score is easy to understand. It is much more difficult to figure out exactly how the primary scores are converted into test scores.

Primary and test USE score: definitions

Primary score- This preliminary USE score. The primary score is obtained by summing the grades for correctly completed tasks. For example, a correctly completed task of Part A or Part B is worth 1 point, Part C - up to 6 points. The maximum number of primary points for all tasks of control measuring materials (CMM) in different subjects ranges from 39 to 80 points.

Test score- This final USE score. It is obtained from the primary using a special table. Each year, each subject has its own special table.

Example: in 2013, a graduate received a primary score of 35 on the exam in history. According to the table, his test score will be 58 / And his deskmate, passing the same story, received one primary score more - 36. His test score on the table will already be 60.

The number of test scores to be strived for must be above the minimum set for this subject. But, as a rule, graduates who are going to receive higher education, know in advance how many test scores you need to score to enter the university for the chosen specialty, since universities publish this information.

Converting primary scores to test scores

As we have already said, there are tables for converting primary scores into test scores. System USE scores is such that even knowing his primary score, the graduate will not be able to accurately determine his test score on his own, since new tables are compiled every year. It takes 6-8 days to convert primary points into test points.

However, in fairness, it is worth noting that the tables of different years do not differ very much: for some subjects, the number of test scores remains the same, for some it changes by 2-3.

Correspondence between the primary scores of the Unified State Examination 2018 and test scores in all academic subjects according to the 100-point assessment system is determined by the documents of Rosobrnadzor.

Scale for transferring USE scores 2018 to 100 point system

To confirm mastery educational program middle general education for each academic subject, except for the USE in mathematics at the basic level, a minimum number of USE points is established according to a 100-point grading system.

There is also a minimum number of points for each subject of the Unified State Examination required for admission to universities. Below this level, universities do not have the right to set their own minimum scores with which they will accept applicants.

But above - they can. Therefore, these scores should be based on (and not guided by) if you decide to get higher education.

The difference in the minimum scores for obtaining a certificate and entering a university is only in the Russian language.

Validity of results - 4 years following the year of receipt of such results.

The desire to know your results immediately is quite understandable, but you should wait a bit. On average, papers are checked for one to two weeks, depending on the number of students taking the exam. For example, the exam in the Russian language passes a large number of guys, an average of about 700 thousand people annually.

This is a big exam, so the results will be out in about two weeks. And the results in the literature can be obtained much faster. The deadlines for issuing results to participants are determined by Rosobrnadzor and published on the ege.edu.ru portal.
