Astral Travel Basics

In order for an individual to master the technique of exiting the astral body from its physiological shell, he must have strong will and the ability to concentrate. People who “fly” in their sleep are most prone to astral travel. Depending on the development of this ability, the following options are possible:

  • when flying during dreams, a person will not spend any physical effort to the rise and fall of your astral body, which will be able to soar, but not move in space;
  • For controlled movement, a person will waste his physical energy, and the astral journey itself takes place in several stages:
  • repulsion from the ground (bed) – take-off – soaring – descent;
  • movement in space provided by a trained physical body and its astral component.

Astral bodies separated from the physical shell hover above their place of residence, and energetically strong and better prepared individuals can make longer and farther journeys. Usually people cannot see the flight of someone else’s body, but those with extrasensory or paranormal abilities (clairvoyants) perceive someone else’s astral shell in the same way as an ordinary physical body.

Some esotericists are convinced that astral travel can end in death, since the soul will not be able to find its way to the physiological shell. This is a deep misconception, since astral flight takes place under the guidance of the subconscious, which, unlike the mind, is always awake.

There is some danger anomalous zones and territories with strong electromagnetic fields. However, even in them, astral travel does not always lead to death. In most cases, a person falls ill and for some time loses the ability to move astrally even in exoterically safe zones.

Training Methods for Astral Travel

People who do not have the innate ability to fly in their sleep can independently, after certain training, make astral travel, the method of leaving the body of which offers various sets of spiritual and physical exercises. There should be silence around you, there should be no one next to you. It is undesirable to conduct sessions of entering the astral plane during strong weather changes. The best air temperature is 22–26 degrees. At the same time, you should wear loose, light clothing made from natural materials.

Some leave the body completely naked. It is advisable to immediately imagine the direction in which you will move in another world. It is strictly forbidden for a person who wants to go out to drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. This will lead you to the lowest threshold of the etheric world.

There is a simple and effective technique to make access to the astral plane a reality. It originates from Tantra. This technique is more than five thousand years old.

In ancient times there was no writing (except for tablets made of clay and palm leaves), computers and other gadgets. To transfer spiritual knowledge and not lose it over time, people used verbal transmission from teacher to student. This is how sutras appeared - short verbal techniques that reflect the whole essence of the method. What was not included in the sutra was explained separately by the teacher. The birth of Tantra (Vijnana Bhairava Tantra) took place. It contains 112 meditation techniques, each of which can lead the seeker to Enlightenment.

How to go to the astral plane

Tantric Technique 55:At that moment of sleep, when sleep has not yet come, and external wakefulness has already disappeared, -

There is enormous potential hidden in this technique. It takes time to open it. However, if you make an effort, the result can be achieved literally after several attempts.

There are two subtle moments during which our consciousness switches from wakefulness to sleep and vice versa. This happens when we fall asleep and wake up. Between sleep and wakefulness there is one moment when consciousness is in an intermediate position. This state is called differently: neutral gear, gap, trans, drowsy state. Trance and the drowsy state best convey the position of our consciousness.

While falling asleep, our consciousness plunges into a trance, then a subtle switch occurs, and we enter an unconscious state. If you catch the moment when you have not yet fallen asleep, then as the sutra says - at this very moment Existence is revealed.

As we already know, there are two states when consciousness is in a sleepy state (trance). This is when we fall asleep and when we wake up. However, this is not quite true. During the night, there are several falls and awakenings (sleep cycles), not two. Each cycle lasts one and a half to two hours. The average person has five. This is how many times (on average) you fall asleep and wake up during the night. This is what needs to be used to realize the experience.

If you start from the moment you fall asleep, you can spend a lot of time with zero results and disappointment in practice. Therefore, you need to start not while falling asleep, but from the moment you wake up (in the morning and in the middle of the night). You need to try to catch this state when waking up during one of the sleep cycles. This option will be the most correct to experience exiting into the astral plane from a trance state upon awakening. This way you can realize your experience faster. Sometimes a few tries are enough.

A comment. Here, as with the stress technique (), the decisive factor will be the strength of desire and the will of the practitioner himself. If this is the case, then the result will not be long in coming and the exit to the astral plane will take place. If there is will and desire are absent, and there is only curiosity, then you can practice for a long time with zero results. Curiosity is not what will lead to an out-of-body experience.

It is easier to gain experience closer to the final awakening (in the morning), when the body (physical and etheric) has rested and been charged with vitality during the night. However, if you perform astral projection in the middle of the night, it will be much longer than in the morning.

To gain experience in the middle of the night, you need strong energy. It can be easily determined by whether it is possible to enter the astral plane at this time or not. If the experience is not realized in the middle of the night then it is better to use the morning time.

To catch the moment of awakening, you need to use an action (technique) that can accomplish this. If you do not apply it (the action), then with a high degree of probability you will oversleep the moment of transition from one sleep cycle to another.

The most effective actions are those that connect with our senses. These are vision, hearing and touch. There are their analogues in our etheric body. Astral projection will be carried out through them.

Astral projection. "Tactile technology"

This is one of the effective techniques to perform astral projection. It's better to start there. You need to practice first before you use it in practice. To do this, lying down (preferably in the place where you sleep), do simple exercises physical body.

1 . Take the position that you usually have when you wake up. Close your eyes, then begin to slowly crawl out of bed (on your bellies or on all fours). Do this until you get bored.

2 . Next exercise: lying in the position in which you usually wake up, begin to roll out of bed to the side.

Spend more time practicing these actions. The more of them there are, the faster you will consolidate this skill in your subconscious and the sooner your experience will come true.

How to do the technique. To realize access to the astral plane, do the following. When you go to bed, do the above steps in your imagination, imagining - imagining yourself leaving your body. An attitude (your will and desire) before falling asleep is also necessary to carry out this experience. The stronger the attitude, the sooner the result will be.

There is no need to try too hard (create stress) so as not to interrupt your sleep. It is necessary to fix in your mind that as soon as you begin to wake up (at this moment you will be in a drowsy state), you will immediately begin to carry out astral projection using tactile actions: crawling out, rolling out and standing up (to implement the experience, choose one of them).

All actions must be performed not with the physical body, but phantom (etheric body). The sensations you will experience will be absolutely similar to physical actions. Depending on your energy level and the depth of trance at the time of performing the technique, they will range from 30 to 100 percent of the sensations of the physical body.

At the moment of awakening, you must not open your eyes or move, otherwise the physical body will come out of the trance and you will wake up.

Explanation. Directly performing the technique while falling asleep is an important success factor. Our mind is designed in such a way that the last thought (in this case, an imaginary action) when falling asleep will be the first when waking up.

Astral projection. Technique “Visualization of images”

I have already talked about the “Image Visualization” technique. See here - (. It can be used both for immersion in a trance state and for falling asleep. It is also good for entering the astral plane.

To realize your experience faster, you first need to practice. While lying where you sleep, do the following. Imagine (with your eyes closed) that you have just woken up and try to see something in front of you. It could be your hands geometric figures or any objects that come to your mind.

Imagine - imagine that you have just woken up and try to see any visual pictures in front of you. It doesn’t matter that they are faded, unclear or completely indistinguishable. The main thing is to practice the skill so that when you wake up you know what you should do. When you do this in a trance state, your visual images will be realistic, the same as in a dream.

How to do the technique. To implement this technique, you need to try to see any visual images in your imagination when falling asleep. It is also necessary to give yourself a setting when going to sleep - to realize yourself in a trance state when waking up (everything is the same as with the tactile technique). After this, lie down and fall asleep.

As soon as you feel yourself waking up, immediately look straight ahead. Try to see any visual pictures. It doesn’t matter what kind, the main thing is to see something. Once they appear, concentrate on them. Through concentration they will begin to become more realistic and you will easily enter into the visual images in front of you. To enter, when observing images, you just need to imagine that you are entering them. And it will happen.

If at this moment this does not work out, do the following: looking at the dream images in front of you, imagine that you are entering them, as if through a door, and you will find yourself there.

Astral projection. “Inner Sound” Technique

This technique originates from Tantra. Before performing it, practice sitting in silence or lying down where you sleep. Close your eyes, start listening to yourself. You will hear a subtle sound. It will resemble a hiss (scientists explain that this is how we hear blood flowing through the vessels).

If you don't hear anything, it's okay. The main thing is your desire something hear. Spend more time ingraining this skill in your mind.

How the technology works. As you fall asleep, give yourself the mindset that as soon as you start to wake up, you will try to hear something inside yourself. It doesn’t matter at all what, you need to try to hear something (inside or outside, it doesn’t matter). The main thing is to want to hear.

When you start to wake up, start listening, trying to hear something. If at this moment you are in a drowsy state (in a trance), two things can happen to you:

1. You may start to hear different sounds, voices, etc. (can be anything). Concentrate on them, trying to strengthen them. They will start to increase in range and you may feel like you are about to go deaf. Never let your equipment reach this state. Because it may scare you and you will come out of your trance and wake up. It is better, as soon as the sound (or sounds) intensify, immediately attempt to exit using tactile action techniques (crawl out, roll out or stand up).

2 . It often happens that instead of hearing something, you begin to see visual images. This happens because when you try to hear, you concentrate your attention in your head. It is automatically thrown into the third eye and you see visual pictures. If this happens, concentrate on the visual images and enter the dream pictures. No further action is required.

Exit to the astral plane. Practice

Explanation. To realize access to the astral plane, there are two options. They depend on your sleep. A person's sleep often changes throughout life, so I recommend that you practice both of them. This way you will quickly achieve success in practice. You need to find your own method of realizing the experience.

All people can be roughly divided into two groups. First, she goes to bed, there are no awakenings at night, they wake up only in the morning. Second, there are night awakenings for various reasons.

First group you need to use the method of interrupted sleep with an alarm clock set. If this is not done, then you can simply oversleep the exit to the astral plane. The time you set your alarm depends on your lifestyle.

When you go to bed, you need to set an alarm to wake up in 4-5 hours (plus or minus an hour). After you wake up (go to the toilet, drink water if you need it) you should stay awake for a few minutes. Then go back to sleep. When falling asleep, keep in mind the thought that you will now fall asleep and wake up in a trance state and immediately enter the astral plane using the three techniques described above.

Second group will be simpler. You need to seize the moments of awakening and perform separation techniques. You can also set yourself that you will wake up at a certain time interval and immediately begin to enter the astral plane. This option is suitable for those who always go to bed at the same time and know approximately when night awakenings occur.

The second option was used by Robert Monroe. Waking up after two or three sleep cycles, he easily left the body.

How to do techniques for entering the astral plane

When you wake up at night (or in the morning after interrupted sleep), immediately begin to perform the exit technique. Do it as much as your intuition tells you. This can be a time interval from several seconds to a minute to understand whether it works or not. If a technique works, then you need to take it to its logical conclusion. Have an out-of-body experience.

At this moment the following will happen:

1. If you start doing the exit technique too actively, your body will come out of the trance and you will wake up. Go back to sleep with the thought that you will try again in the next sleep cycle.

2 . If the activity of execution is weak, then, without achieving a result, you will again fall asleep. The next time you wake up (on the next sleep cycle), try again to leave the body.

3. With the third option you will succeed. Having woken up before the body, in a trance state, you can easily, using the exit technique, go to the astral plane. This option can happen as soon as you start practicing astral projection (after reading this article). Or during your practice, when you already gain experience and it will happen to you automatically.

Two uses of separation techniques

When entering the astral plane upon awakening, there are two options for using separation techniques:

1. Using multiple techniques. When you wake up, being in a sleepy state (trance), you begin to go through techniques. First you use the tactile technique, then the image visualization technique, and finally the internal sound technique (you can choose the order of performing the techniques yourself). When going through techniques, it is important not to put a lot of energy into these actions. Otherwise, you may activate your sleeping brain and simply wake up.

2. Using one technique. The best option is to start with one technique (tactile, visual or internal sound). Work with it for several nights (at least two) to understand whether it works or not. Then (if there is no result) move on to the next one and work with it as well. Then to another.

Don't be surprised, this may be so. You are doing an image visualization technique, and the tactile technique that you worked with before works, but without results. This happens quite often. Or, as I already wrote above, you do the auditory one, and visualization works. Such surprises are a common occurrence when working with trance separation techniques upon awakening.

How do techniques manifest themselves?

With the “Inner Sound” technique, there can be either exit through the etheric body or entry directly into the astral body. It depends on how the technique will manifest itself (I wrote about this above).

Silver thread (silver cord)

When entering the astral plane (through the etheric body), a frequent occurrence is the feeling that in the area of ​​the solar plexus (this can be in another place) something is holding you and does not allow you to leave the physical body. In the literature on astral projection and out-of-body experiences, this phenomenon is called the silver cord or silver thread.

At the moment of the action of the silver cord, you need to move away from your physical body as far as possible. When you move away, the connection with the body will disappear.

The feeling of a silver thread usually occurs at the beginning of an out-of-body practice. The more exits to the astral plane there are, the less and less you will feel it. If the exit occurs immediately into the astral body, then this phenomenon does not manifest itself.

How to turn on vision in the astral plane

When you enter the etheric body, an unpleasant “surprise” may await you. There may be no vision. You will be in the state of a newly born kitten. And this is a natural phenomenon. Since entering the astral plane occurs every time you fall asleep (unconsciously) at night, but for the first time (vision may be absent not only for the first time) you do it consciously.

What to do to turn on your vision?

You just need to want it and it will appear. Mentally turn it on. If at this moment this does not work, then do the following. Imagine that your hat is down over your eyes and simply lift it up using your hands. After this, vision will immediately appear. When you lift the “hat” with your etheric hands, the sensations will be the same as in the physical world.

If the exit occurs into the astral body, then vision is always there. However, a common occurrence is the blurring of objects on the astral plane. To eliminate this you must focus on the nearest object. Try to look at it. After you do this, it will become sharp and realistic and all other nearby objects will too. After this you will be able to see everything clearly and well.

Lucid dreams

When working with trance techniques upon awakening, your consciousness is programmed for a positive result. After a while, your subconscious will begin to help you, doing your work for you.

In addition to successful out-of-body practice, you will also begin to have lucid dreams, which will be a pleasant bonus. Especially when you don’t make an effort, and this will happen on its own, against your will.

The main secret of entering the astral plane through trance

Exit to the astral plane through a trance state upon awakening is the most easy method to have an out-of-body experience.

There will come a point in your practice when you will begin to wake up before your body (in a trance state) and will easily be able to carry out out-of-body experiences. Let's return to the sutra. What does this mysterious mean? Existence is revealed. When you leave your body by entering the astral plane, you will recognize your true original state before birth on Earth. This is what you are. And not the “clothing” (in the form of a physical body) that each of us wears. What we can come out of cannot be us. This is exactly what the sutra is talking about - Existence is revealed. This will be your first discovery.

And the second discovery will be the endless, boundless world of the Spirit into which you will find yourself. He is not a stranger to us. This is our real Home. Otherwise it can not be. We simply forgot and don’t remember it.

A person who has had an out-of-body experience will have new horizons of perception of the world. By practicing leaving your body, you will begin to approach life differently. Values ​​will change. Because you recognize the most important jewel that you have - it is yourself (your essence). Not the one who has the first and last name given to you at birth, but the true one You, what was and will be before birth on Earth. This is what the sutra means when it says - Existence is revealed.
