Fireworks on May 9 - a great sight. The only thing that spoils it is great amount people on the main Moscow sites, from where volleys are fired. But there are places in the city for viewing fireworks, which few people know about. For example, in the Krylatsky Hills park, 11 fireworks from different parts of the capital will be visible at once. Read about other secret locations below.

Salute in the capital will be immediately at 36 addresses. Of these, 16 are the main fireworks sites, 20 are smaller, in parks. Among the main ones is Poklonnaya Hill. There, salvos will last 10 minutes, and one of them will be fired from a Soviet 76-mm divisional and anti-tank gun of the 1942 model. The map below shows that fireworks will take place in all metropolitan districts.

But instead of watching the fireworks, standing in the crowd, we offer a romantic alternative - the observation deck of the Academy of Sciences. It offers stunning views of the Sparrow Hills, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and Moscow City. That is, having climbed there, you can watch several fireworks at once. What is nice, there are few visitors, and admission is free.

Fireworks on the water

Viewing the fireworks can be combined with a river boat trip. Of the benefits: again, no crush, great view, including the city, plus music as a bonus. Of the minuses: a river walk is not a free pleasure. The simplest 3-hour walk without dinner will cost one and a half thousand rubles per adult passenger. Well, it’s still cool on the water in the evening, so it’s better to take a blanket with you.

Fireworks on high

We also advise you to grab a blanket if you dare to watch the fireworks on some Moscow roof. Such services are provided by dozens of tour companies. The cost varies from 1500 to 4000 rubles - the closer to the center, the more expensive. If you don’t feel like paying, you can try to break through to the upper floors of the skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya embankment. Experienced roofers say that the concierges there are very accommodating.

And finally, the choice of our editors. The best view of the fireworks will open from the observation deck of the Ostankino TV tower, if only because the fireworks will shine at eye level. Climbing there on May 9 will cost 980 rubles for an adult, 490 for a child. The tour will last an hour.

After the concert, without changing the location, you can watch the fireworks. The best views of fire volleys can be observed from the Alley of Partisans and from the hill near the entrance platform.

Chamber platform at the foot of the building of the Academy of Sciences on Leninsky Prospekt. Few people know about it - usually here, admiring the sunset, locals hug. From here you can’t see the whole of Moscow, in this sense the site loses to Sparrow Hills, but here a completely unfamiliar view opens up on the city. If that's not enough for you, go up to the last floors of the RAS, there's a SkyLounge with a panoramic view of the city, but with sky-high prices.

Sparrow Hills

An important place for the history of Moscow, one of the seven city hills, located on the right bank of the river. During the fireworks, a crowd gathers here, but if you are lucky to arrive early and take a place on the very cliff, you can see the Moscow River, high-rise buildings, and the Ostankino Tower. The salute here is one of the most spectacular in the city. We advise you to plan your day in such a way that you arrive at Sparrow Hills three hours before the fireworks, take a walk along the ecological paths of the park and study all the birds and mice.

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Moscow State University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with "Ukraine" are clearly visible.

A bar on the 34th floor of the Swissotel Krasnye Holmy hotel. In a good way, there is nothing for children to do in the bar, but it offers a rare view of the city, and the menu includes Soytisuma banana ice cream (650 rubles) and cheesecake with lime and chocolate (600 rubles).

The tenth floor of the bar of the Ararat Park Hayatt hotel, on Neglinnaya. The Bolshoi Theatre, the Kremlin and Red Square are in full view, fireworks before your eyes. Just be careful, there is a dress code here and smart casual is welcome as a form of clothing, so it is better to leave a tracksuit at home.

One of the most expensive and pompous restaurants in the city, on the veranda of which Hollywood film actors are usually photographed. If all this does not scare you, then be sure to come here to watch the fireworks.
