Paragliding club. Introductory course to paragliding. Main features of studying at our School

The paragliding school provides training in paragliding and paramotor flights according to general and special training programs

Our programs are created on the basis of the experience of training paragliding pilots at the SLA Horizon Club, which has been training paragliding pilots since 1991 and are focused on acquiring full skills in controlling a paraglider wing and flying in updrafts

Programs

  • Theoretical course "Theoretical training program"
  • The “Amateur Pilot” course is a basic course on developing and strengthening the skills of launching from mountains and mechanized means, as well as maneuvering, equivalent to the initial level of the III sports level in paragliding;
  • The “Soaring” course is the first stage of training for professional paragliding pilots, consists of two basic elements “Soaring in a dynamic flow” and “Soaring in a thermal flow”, the completion of these stages is equivalent to the upper level of the III - Initial level of the II sports paragliding level ;
  • The “Special Flight Modes” course is a course on special paraglider flight modes (Simulation of Flight Incidents - SIV), consists of two sets of exercises, the first of which is performed above the ground, the second above the water surface.

Main features of studying at our School

  • The effectiveness of training is achieved by selecting appropriate weather conditions for each exercise and simultaneously studying the necessary theoretical knowledge together with a number of practical trainings.
  • During the first primary education, the student maintains constant contact with the instructor assigned to him.
  • Classes are conducted in groups of 3-4 people, which allows you to analyze the mistakes of others and allows the instructor to pay enough attention to each student.
  • For nonresident students, classes are provided at training camps.
  • The use of interactive Internet tools allows you to reduce the time spent clarifying theoretical issues.
  • The process is considered as a continuous improvement of skills, for which trips to training camps and courses on special flight modes are held.
  • After graduating from school, graduates, being members of the Horizon club, receive regular flights, registration of flight documents and sports categories, and advanced training courses.

Theory

The volume of necessary theoretical questions according to the basic theoretical training program is structured in such a way as to concentrate attention on the most significant theoretical concepts and skills. The classes offer solutions to practical problems of aerodynamics and the theory of paraglider flight. The basic theory course is conducted once a year by the best instructors of the club, mostly with professional training in their field. In order not to lose flight time, the theoretical course is conducted during the off-season, usually the end of October-November.

Practice

When used methodological techniques, developed as a result of the training of paragliding pilots at the Horizon Club since 1991, and allowing not only to effectively teach how to handle a paraglider wing, but also to develop and consolidate the feeling of the wing, which is so necessary when taking off and flying in difficult conditions.

Using the Internet

Using the opportunities and access to closed parts of the forum, students get the opportunity to get acquainted with the most frequently asked questions on the theory that arise when learning to fly a paraglider and further operate a paraglider, as well as receive comprehensive answers to questions on the theory and practice of operating a paraglider.

Paragliding Club

Performing cross-country paragliding flights requires a large amount of knowledge and experience, allowing you to fly safely and fly long distances using updrafts.
It may be possible to transfer the entire volume of knowledge and skills in two to three months of classes, but it takes much more time to master the material.
Sometimes you come on a trip to remember what was discussed in theoretical classes on the theory of flight, sometimes flight conditions may differ from ideal - in this case it is always useful to fly in the Club - in the circle of colleagues, friends, like-minded people.
Real professional growth is possible only with constant communication and flying with more experienced paragliding pilots and gaining flight experience.
That is why the Club conducts not only initial training, but also regular trips that require the development of flying skills in dynamic or mountain conditions. Pilots of the second sports category take part in Russian competitions, traditional Club competitions are held.

How paragliding training is conducted.

Classes are divided into practical and theoretical in the club. Practical classes are conducted in the field, on a hill, using a winch. Theoretical classes are held at the club on Thursdays. In addition, the club conducts practical training on a simulator.

Exercises on the simulator

First practical lesson In the field or on a hill, exercises on the simulator are preceded. Using the simulator, you learn the harness system, develop the habit of fastening all the locks, and sitting correctly in the harness system. The student learns to fasten his seat belts “in the air.” Then we begin to practice the skills of controlling a paraglider using weight transfer in the harness, the methods of controlling a paraglider are explained and shown, the student performs turns on the simulator until the correct result is obtained.
Training on the simulator is carried out in the future to correct control and active piloting skills during theoretical classes or on weekends when the club does not go on flights due to weather conditions.

Theoretical classes

Theoretical classes are held on Thursdays and include 5 main topics, which are given over 7-10 lessons. Lectures are read in a circle, the same topics are discussed in different ways and are designed, if the listeners wish, to be listened to several times. Classes also include reports from paragliders or hang gliders about flights in different flying locations, viewing photos and video materials. The main classes are taught by: Alexey Semenov, Mikhail Malev. Experts in this topic can also be invited to individual classes.

Practical lessons

The method of teaching paragliding allows you to put emphasis on the most important skills of paragliding piloting. see the link: "Organization of exercises and equipment used when teaching paragliding..."

The main emphasis is on an individual training system.

For initial training using a winch, modern certified paragliders are used: Bodygard.
During the first lessons on the ground, when the student has mastered the technique of working with a canopy, paragliders are used Hunter, Oniks, Tornado, which are not used for winch flights.

Flights are carried out with radio stations. The instructor, gradually reducing the student's guidance through the radio station, teaches him to rely only on himself in the air.

All harnesses used in paragliding training using a winch are equipped with reserve parachutes.

The school has experience teaching disabled people. But this is a special conversation and requires individual consultation.

Where are practical classes held?

In Moscow

The main training in paragliding is carried out using an active winch.

The paragliding school also goes to the hills of Moscow or the near Moscow region, mainly in winter.

In addition, the school travels in the summer to Yutsu and Gagry, where the school’s students continue their studies. Training is possible only on-site; in this case, the intensity increases and the initial training course can be completed in one trip.

Classes are also held on weekdays on the slides. We are interested in students completing their studies as quickly as possible. Therefore, if you want to study on weekdays, you only need to agree on the day and time with the instructor, because... This may not be the only job for instructors.

On the road

In the summer, the school travels to Yutsu, where primary education continues. By the end of Yutsa, some students complete their initial training. After Yutsa, the school usually goes to Gagra to swim in the sea, where only those who have completed initial training are allowed to fly from top to bottom and at the discretion of the instructor, with control at the start and landing with constant radio communication.
We used to go to winter Nizhny Novgorod, but such trips have not been held for several years.
In addition to Yutsa, the school constantly travels to other places, but these trips take place in addition to the initial training course.

Flight book

During your first lessons you will be given a flight book. You record all your flights in it. Upon completion of the initial training course, you are assigned the 3rd sports category and admission to dynamic flights (flights in bluff flows, i.e., an updraft is formed at the windward side of the slides, in which the paraglider can fly for hours), a stamp and signature are affixed.

The MAI gliding school, as part of the MAI hang gliding club "Hang Glider", has the right to appoint instructors and train pilots.

The low gliding speed (20-70 km/h) is perfect for your first acquaintance with the sky, especially if you don’t yet dare to board the plane.

What awaits me?

Free planning at an altitude of up to 450 m. Technically, the paraglider rises to 5000 m, but tandem flights take place at a low altitude so that the passenger can enjoy the views. The paraglider is constantly descending, but if an upward flow of warm air gets in the way, it will soar upward. If desired, the pilot will demonstrate safe aerobatics - swing the wing or twist the spiral.

By choosing a certificate for pair flight on a paraglider and paramotor, an adventure for two in the sky awaits you. It all happens like this: the first passenger, in tandem with an instructor, rises on a paramotor cart. And then he watches from above as the second person on the tandem paraglider, using a winch, rises to the same height. The duration of the flight on a paramotor is 10-15 minutes, on a paraglider - 5-10 minutes. Duration depends on weather conditions.

For high altitude flights will fit summer days, when the earth is warmed up and warm air rushes upward, forming upward thermal currents (season: summer). In such a flow, a paraglider can gain altitude literally “to the clouds” and fly for many kilometers. The steaming will last from 10 minutes or longer. Unfortunately, “soaring” weather does not happen every day, even in the summer, and it is impossible to guarantee 100% getting into the flow. Therefore, this flight can be replaced by 2 regular flights.

Master class "Paragliding" includes ground training of 4-5 hours and 1 flight in tandem with an instructor; with sufficient preparation and mastery necessary knowledge 2 independent flights on a single-seat paraglider with radio control from an instructor.

Flight with aerial acrobatics can be recommended for extreme sports and adrenaline lovers (season: summer). Your pilot will not "fly in a straight line", but will perform several acrobatic maneuvers. The passenger will feel what an overload is, sometimes the overall speed of the paraglider will increase to 100 km/h, above your head you will see not the sky, but... the earth. Acrobatic figures are selected by the pilot based on weather conditions and the weight of the passenger; for safety, stunts are performed at an altitude of more than 100 m.

On average, the flight lasts 10 minutes.
On average - because the duration of the flight is affected by wind speed, the presence/absence of updrafts and aerobatics (it eats up the altitude, bringing the paraglider closer to the ground).

Do you need training for a flight?

Before the paraglider is in the sky, the pilot and passenger will have to run a little across the field. Here are a few rules: wear comfortable shoes without heels and with grooved soles, choose clothes according to the weather, and in sunny weather, take sunglasses and cream with you. And listen to the pilot's commands. Nothing complicated.

How it works?

The paraglider resembles a wing parachute, but there are differences: the paraglider has a longer canopy, you do not need to jump from the plane, and it is equipped with a seat with girths that fix the body. For takeoff, a towing system is used: the winch pulls a cable attached to the passenger. When the altitude is reached, the cable unfastens - off we go!

Who is it suitable for?

The weight and height of the passenger do not matter. Another thing is age. At all paradromes, only people over 18 are allowed to fly. People after operations, as well as with diseases of the cardiovascular/nervous system or musculoskeletal system are not allowed to fly. Pregnant women are also not allowed to fly.

On a note:

Paragliding flights in the Moscow region take place during the warm season on weekends, subject to favorable weather conditions. The exception is the Voronovo parade ground, where flights are conducted all year round. By choosing a paragliding flight as a gift, you can arrange an original date. Imagine you are floating smoothly nearby and enjoying the breathtaking beauty.

The certificate is valid for 8 months. It is imperative to take into account the seasonality of the provision of services and the conditions for their implementation (for example, favorable weather conditions, schedule, etc.), which is agreed upon with the organizers when registering.

Delivery of gift certificates for a paragliding flight is free within the Moscow Ring Road on the next day after ordering. .

Paragliding is the most simple form flight, so anyone can try their hand at it. It is enough to find a hill, take a good run, jump and fly while controlling the wing. But everything is not as simple as it may seem. If you want this kind of entertainment to bring pleasure, you need paragliding training in Moscow. Otherwise there is a risk of serious injury.

How to get started with paragliding

Classes involve theoretical and practical training. You won't have to listen to lectures for long. You will learn how a paraglider works and the features of flight performance. It also implies a review of video and photographic materials on paragliding.

Much more attention is paid to practice. First you will exercise on the simulator. You will study the features of the suspension system, develop the habit of immediately fastening the locks, and sitting down according to the rules.

Practicing management skills plays a significant role aircraft. You will learn how to transfer weight correctly, learn about how control can be performed, and practice making turns. Training on a special simulator is carried out even when several flights have already been completed. This is necessary to improve management skills.

You will fly 3 training flights with an instructor. As part of this course, independent paragliding flight is possible.

Task for 1st flight: You and your instructor will fly together in tandem. The instructor independently performs takeoff, climb and landing. During the flight, control is transferred to you under the guidance of an instructor. You will try straight flight, turns, weight and brake control and other interesting exercises.

In the second flight, you independently control the paraglider at altitude and make a landing approach. In addition, you control the paraglider under the guidance of an instructor during climb and landing.

On the third flight, you control the paraglider as independently as possible. The instructor only performs the actual takeoff of the wing, and then you perform the entire flight until landing on your own under the supervision of the instructor. At the discretion of your instructor and flight director, the third flight with an instructor may be replaced by an independent flight.
