Yesterday Moscow state institute International Relations (MGIMO) was at the center of the scandal. The guards refused to let an applicant in a hijab into the institute, referring to the ban on wearing hats, prescribed in the Charter. Later, representatives of the university themselves stated that there was no such ban. Despite this situation, the number of applicants to one of the most prestigious educational institutions countries are unlikely to decrease. Every year, thousands of yesterday's schoolchildren try to enter the institute, which many oligarchs, foreign ministers and show business stars graduated from. Life decided to share the mental anguish of those who today apply to the most major university in the country.
Not far from the entrance to the territory of the alma mater of Russian diplomacy, there are a couple of Lexus cars and three BMWs. There are two girls in the crowd. They laugh out loud and look happy. Both are named Dashami. One, from Kaliningrad, decided to enter the international journalism, the other moved to Moscow from Samara and wants to become a lawyer. To the question "why did they choose MGIMO", embarrassed, they answer: "This is one of best universities countries". The girls are not afraid of difficulties: they say that everything depends on the person and his ambitions. And that big Moscow does not frighten at all.

Each future student is assigned an MGIMO student. He tells how, where and what to fill out, leads from one office to another. Many guys are worried, they sign with shaking hands (without looking) what the "guides" give them, and some of the forms are simply translated (the columns are confused, the data is forgotten).
Nastya, a girl from the Komi Republic, applied for several directions at once. Says that in hometown does not want to stay and that one can get used to financial difficulties, as well as to the chuckles of majors behind one's back, because MGIMO is a "golden dream". "The dream of a lifetime."
After 12 noon, there were more people in the queue - several dozen people crowded at the doors of the selection committee. If in the morning at MGIMO there were ordinary applicants, exactly the same as in other universities, dressed in short summer dresses and shorts, then in the afternoon the “diversity” of applicants was increasingly felt.
Dolce & Gabbana bags, Armani backpacks and Lacoste polo shirts mixed with provincial - or even rural - "chic" (colorful polyester sundresses, sneakers with thinned rhinestones and glasses that girls use instead of headbands). No, "mom's shoes", which are more like galoshes than summer sandals, do not fit in with the Apple Watch on the hand of a wealthy Asian-looking dad.

Contrasts are everywhere you look: a girl with purple hair is afraid of losing her place in line and, unlike others, does not leave the flow of applicants for a minute. Another one is afraid to let go of her mother's hand. The atmosphere is diluted by a MGIMO student flying out of the building, who, together with the teacher, divides the line in half - in a perfectly ironed suit, expensive watches ... And you feel: here it is, the image of the MGIMO student, which has settled in our heads.

Applicants who so want to become independent as soon as possible ask their parents for help at every opportunity: find out, go to the office, fill out.

Last year, the eldest graduated from high school, and I went to universities with her. In addition to MGIMO, I really liked Pleshka - there was a lot of light, youth, new buildings were being built. RUDN University (my sister also applied there) seemed to me, on the contrary, a very dark place. The main building is a gray building, where the lights also flicker, like in horror films.

First of all, I would like to sincerely congratulate all our employees and veterans on their professional holiday - a holiday of energetic, dedicated people who sincerely love their Motherland and defend our national interests in the international arena.
A diplomat is first and foremost a patriot. Honesty, decency, reliability, mastery of the pen and word, extensive erudition, willingness to work with full dedication are his hallmarks. Our diplomacy has a long history and is famous for its traditions. At all times, diplomats served the Motherland with honor, fulfilled their duty to it to the end, including, if necessary, with weapons in their hands, as was the case during World War II and the Great Patriotic War.
Guided by the experience and example of our famous predecessors, we will continue to solve the widest range of tasks in line with the Russian Federation VV Putin's foreign policy course. On the agenda are efforts to maintain peace, strengthen strategic stability, overcome political and diplomatic crises and conflicts, promote the idea of broad Eurasian integration, increase bilateral cooperation, as well as interaction within multilateral associations, including the United Nations (UN), the G20 ”, BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), RIC (Russia-India-China), Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

7 main mistakes in the theoretical chapter
Hello! I have been helping students with diplomas for more than 3 years and I want to talk about the main mistakes that can be made due to inexperience in the theoretical chapter (but then, of course, regret it).
Here are the main mistakes that will worsen the impression of the first chapter:
2. Lack of conclusions at the end of the chapter. This is the second thing teachers look at☺ Usually the number of conclusions is equal to the number of paragraphs. No one demands to cover the entire content of the chapter in one paragraph, but at least it is necessary to give a definition and classification. If there is no time at all, then you can copy 3-4 main sentences, paste them at the end and rewrite them in other words.
3. Lack of analysis. The purpose of the theoretical chapter is not simply to provide definitions and concepts. It is important to conduct a theoretical analysis - to compare different positions, opinions. At least 1-2 comparisons, but they must be in order for the work to turn out to be fully scientific.
4. Pictures inserted from the Internet. No teacher will take it well, even if the source is signed. Copy-paste is a sign of negligence, so it's better to redo the drawings yourself. If the drawing is not complicated, then you can use SmartArt in Word. If the drawing is too complex, then you can simplify it and draw it in PowerPoint. In any case, this is better than an explicitly copied drawing.
5. Lack of sources under tables and figures. Such a trifle often serves as a reason to lower the score on defense. It is better to honestly give a link to the source or write "Compiled by the author" if you added something from yourself.
6. Outdated literature. The scientists have already managed to annoy everyone with the requirement that the sources be no older than 3-5 years. But in practice, this is difficult to implement, because. all definitions and classifications have already been given a long time ago. The way out can be this - find a similar definition in any article on Google Academy with a 2016-2019 filter and insert a link to this author, and not to the original source.
7. Hyper-structuring. For rare cases, a bunch of subparagraphs (1.1.1, 1.1.2, etc.) is bad. Researchers don't like this because it's easy to get lost in the structure of the text and break the integrity of the work. Therefore, if the scientist himself does not ask to make such a structure, then it is better not to complicate and not split up the paragraphs.
That's all the main mistakes! It can also be noted too big number quotes (especially typical for lawyers), an excess of bullet points and statistics. But don't forget about these 7 mistakes, and the probability of a scientist's praise will increase.
