What animals live in a mini zoo of a boring garden. Boring Garden. Pheasants in Gorky Park

In the Soviet years, the Neskuchny Garden became a non-fussy component of the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure. Muscovites who have ridden on carousels and satiated themselves in catering establishments could walk along shady alleys, take a nap in a hammock, take a book in a reading room or refresh themselves in a bathhouse on the Moskva River.

In 1923, part of the garden was used for the All-Russian Agricultural and Handicraft-Industrial Exhibition, but the pavilions there were mostly wooden, the exhibition itself did not work for long and, after completion, did not leave anything to the memory of posterity.

The main entrance to the garden from Leninsky Prospekt is located at house number 18, which, like the neighboring buildings, was erected shortly before the war.

In the first years of Soviet power, the Museum of Furniture, then the Museum of Ethnology, will be arranged in the palace halls, and from the mid-1930s to the present day, pundits from the Academy of Sciences will gather in them.

The collection of the museum began to be collected by Peter I, having assigned an office for it in the Kunstkamera, and minerals, crystals, precious stones and meteorites were relocated to Moscow in 1934 in parallel with the relocation of the Academy of Sciences.

In the Soviet period, no capital buildings were erected in the Neskuchny Garden (except for the Green Theater complex), but the garden alleys were decorated with a rotunda, fountains and sculptures. In the 1930s, the Military Camp of the Central Park of Culture and Culture was organized near the Summer House with the study of the structure of the tank and the passing of the TRP standards for shooting at the shooting range. Monumental art was represented by the sculptural composition of Innokenty Zhukov "The Story of Perekop".

"The Story of Perekop" 1932-1941: https://pastvu.com/p/103471 The same sculpture adorned the square in Leninskaya Sloboda near Avtozavodskaya. It is not known when the Red Army soldier and the pioneers left the Neskuchny Garden, but ten years ago they were seen in the bushes near the Academy of Sciences on Andreevskaya Embankment. By that time, the pioneers had lost their heads, and now the traces of the sculpture are completely lost. Most likely, the wreckage was disposed of during the improvement of the square above the Gagarin tunnel.

The sculpture "The Diver" by Romuald Iodko was installed in 1937; it adorns the top of the cascade leading from the steep slope to the embankment.

A berth for pleasure boats and boats was equipped on Pushkinskaya Embankment. Today, rivermen hold a solemn ceremony of opening navigation along the Moscow River here.

Rotunda in honor of the 800th anniversary of Moscow and a square with fountains were built in 1947-1951, the project was carried out by the architect D. Chechulin. The design mentions significant events of different eras for the city.

A hatch with the letter "yat" in the word "factory" appeared here, probably from pre-revolutionary stocks. And in the basement of the rotunda, a pump was installed to supply water to the fountains, which eventually fell into disrepair, as well as communications.

The Hunting Lodge of Prince Trubetskoy housed the Samovarnik cafe, later the Beer pavilion, and then the house was abandoned. Since 1990, the restored pavilion has hosted the filming of the television game “What? Where? When?".

In the ravines, motorists competed in off-road buggy races, and for horse riding enthusiasts, horses were kept in the stables of the Yamsky Dvor. The embankment was also used for active recreation of Muscovites, rafts-baths were equipped right on the river.

The outlines of the new pavilion of the Belaya Ladya chess club resemble the silhouette of the former premises, but then there were no walls and only a canopy sheltered chess lovers from bad weather.

Back in 1830, near the Alexandrinsky Palace, a “summer wooden theater was built, uncovered, sheathed with narrow boards, painted with white and wild colors.” In the Air Theater (meaning an open-air theater), there were performances twice a week, masters of instrumental music, gypsy ensembles performed here, and foreign illusionists toured.

Exactly one hundred years have passed and the city authorities have arranged a new open stage for 5,000 spectators. This place was then called Smychka Square, implying a bond - the unity of the proletariat with the collective farm peasantry. Soon the project of the Green Theater by architect L. Cherikover appeared, the construction took only a month and was completed in July 1933. The auditorium with benches began to accommodate 20,000 people, the stage was a large wooden platform with towers on the sides and an orchestra pit in the center.

In 1956-1957, for the International Festival of Youth and Students, the Green Theater was rebuilt according to the project of Y. Sheverdyaev, acquiring a modern shape. Since 1989, the theater has been associated with the musician of the Tsvety group, director and producer Stas Namin. The Stas Namin Center leased the complex for 49 years, undertaking to put in order the building that had not undergone major repairs. In the course of the work, the walls and foundation were strengthened, the roof was blocked, engineering communications and the historical appearance of the facades were restored. The Green Theater has become a popular concert venue, our and foreign rock musicians of varying degrees of fame performed here.

Do you think that you can see an elk or a raccoon in its natural habitat only outside the city, and in Moscow only pigeons remained from living creatures? This is one of the most common misconceptions among Muscovites, who often do not even know that more than a third of the territory within the Moscow Ring Road is occupied by parks, nature reserves, shady boulevards and squares. And not only people, but also animals feel comfortable there.

Moose in Sokolniki

Sokolniki Park is one of the most populated with natural inhabitants, especially considering its proximity to the Losiny Ostrov National Reserve. Together with it, they form a huge green space stretching in the suburbs.

If you come to Sokolniki and go deep into the park, you may well meet a moose - they sometimes wander into the park from the reserve, although they prefer not to contact people. If you want to see this horned one for sure, then it is better to go to the Elk Biological Station - it is located not far from the Moscow Ring Road, but getting there is not so easy. But the most patient will be able to see and communicate with live moose and calves. Before the visit, you need to sign up, details are on the website of the reserve elkisland.ru.

However, the territory of Sokolniki itself also offers fauna lovers a lot of interesting things. One can easily meet snakes, frogs, squirrels and rare birds including white-backed woodpecker, shrike, long-eared owl and others. If you have a weakness for birds, then you should definitely go to the ornithary - there they are treated and rehabilitated all year round. "Everyone can, without leaving the urban environment, see in close proximity rare species of birds, the release of many of which into the wild is impossible for a number of reasons. At the moment, more than 130 birds are on display," the ornithariat says. It is easy to get there on foot from the main entrance, following the signs or asking for directions from the guards.

If you come to Sokolniki and go deep into the park, you will be able to meet a moose

In addition, a petting zoo has recently opened in the park - there you can get acquainted with a variety of animals and even feed them. Among the residents of the zoo are chinchillas, raccoons, rabbits, guinea pigs, dwarf sheep, parrots, white guinea fowls, foxes, goats and hedgehogs.

The zoo is also located not far from the main entrance to the park - on the right, behind the Falconry restaurant.

At VDNKh - killer whales

Another space where representatives of the animal world live is VDNKh and the adjacent Botanical Garden and Ostankino Park. In addition to the usual squirrels and various birds found in almost every square, there are also unusual animals.

In their search it is worth going first of all to the "city farm". There live Indian zebu cows (a whole family), Nubian goat Boris and Nubian goats, ordinary sheep and polled fat-tailed rams, as well as new settlers - raccoons and alpacas. The latter were presented to the general public only last weekend. There is also a rabbitry, a pen with donkeys and a poultry yard with geese and ducks.

Animals can be fed by purchasing food from vending machines.

Not far away, in the 48th pavilion called "Sheep breeding", there is, oddly enough, an urban equestrian center where experienced trainers teach all areas of equestrian sports.

The center also provides one-time horse, donkey and pony rides, the VDNKh administration says. - Every day from 10.00 to 20.00 there are tours of the stable, where children and adults are told about the breeds, colors of horses, types of equestrian sports, as well as interesting stories from the life of those horses that are in our stable. During the tour, those who wish can try to saddle a pony, of course, under the guidance of a coach-guide, and also admire the Akhal-Teke horse (horse of the Akhal-Teke breed) of a rare black color.

And, of course, do not forget about the Moskvarium aquarium. In the zone of his aquarium with a total area of 12 thousand square meters. m live 8 thousand marine life and freshwater from all over the world. There are even killer whales and walruses, and there is also a swimming center with dolphins.

Pheasants in Gorky Park

Gorky Park will not surprise you with a meeting with moose or other animals rare for Moscow, but you will still be able to communicate with representatives of the fauna there. For example, pheasants live here, and three species at once. There are two pheasants in the Neskuchny Garden and one more in the central part of the park opposite the Golitsyn Pond. “In the same place, near the Golitsynsky ponds near the Ostrovok cafe and the playground, there is an aviary with rabbits. White and black swans and two geese live on the large and small Golitsynsky ponds,” the park management says.

There is also a "green school" where children are taught gardening, carpentry and pottery, biology and psychology. Children at school can communicate with rabbits, feed aquatic red-eared turtles and parrots - 2 cockatiels and 6 wavy ones, as well as 3 giant Achatina snails live here.

One of the favorite activities of park guests is feeding squirrels and ducks. Nuts can be brought first, they must be fresh, unroasted and unsalted. It is enough for the feathered inhabitants of the Golitsynsky Ponds to crumble bread, and the rabbits will be delighted with raw vegetables - cabbage, carrots, potatoes, pumpkins. “As with any animals, you need to communicate carefully with the inhabitants of the park - not to miss, not to frighten them and not cause discomfort. All our animals are vaccinated,” the park warns.

In "Kolomenskoye" - falcons

In fact, it will be possible to see some kind of living creatures in any metropolitan park, at least it will be squirrels and birds. In the museum-reserve "Kolomenskoye", for example, there is a huge variety of birds - there live a goshawk, an eared owl, a corncrake, a middle spotted woodpecker, a common shrike and others. The complex of the Falcon Yard, where the exposition "Falconry of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich" works, was also recreated on the territory of the museum. It is dedicated to the centuries-old tradition of Russian princes and tsars - falconry, which reached its peak in Russia just in the reign of Alexei Mikhailovich. Birds of prey (saker falcons and goshawks) live in enclosures there.

In the Kuzminki park, you can even meet hares and foxes, as well as a huge number of squirrels - they are easy to find in the squirrel cage. The animals can be photographed, fed or just watched them. Nearby there is also an equestrian club with a petting zoo.

In the Fili park, with some luck and a desire to reach remote places, you will be able to see the Red Book shrews, bats, hedgehogs, hare and others.

"Walking near the reservoirs, streams and swamps of our old park, you can still meet an ordinary newt or a grass frog flash under your feet, or maybe even the so-called moored frog. All these species of reptiles are listed in the Red Book of Moscow, and their numbers are constantly declining ", - say in the administration of the park.

In other green areas of the capital, especially large ones, the animal world can also boast of diversity.

By the way

Moscow has launched a social network for dating in parks - with its help you can find a companion for going to the cinema or a joint bike ride. It is enough to download the ParkSeason mobile application to your phone. The social network is already being tested in Sokolniki Park. By entering the application, users can see which of the members of the social network is nearby with him.

The Village has received a copy of a letter to the administration of Gorky Park from Muscovite Elena Makarycheva. A visitor to the Neskuchny Garden was extremely concerned about the condition of the deer that lives there in an aviary.

“During another walk in the park, on Sunday, December 2, 2012, I noticed that the animal had a wounded nose, it bleeds, and the animal constantly tries to lick it, in addition, it constantly licks its front left paw, perhaps it is also injured or ice was on it. Children were walking nearby, including a little girl of seven years old, who was upset to tears when she saw blood on the muzzle of a deer. The parents of the child fully agreed that it was cruel to keep an animal in such conditions,” the reader writes.

Further, the worried girl called the Ecology for All Foundation, which owns the enclosure. There she was informed that the deer had been placed in an enclosure for domestic animals and birds by the decision of the Gorky Park administration, despite the fact that the environmentalists themselves were against it: such a cage is completely unsuitable for keeping a deer.

Photo by the press service of Gorky Park

The Village contacted the park administration to clarify the situation. It turned out that the deer was presented to Gorky Park a month and a half ago. Due to the lack of other options, the employees were forced to put the animal in an aviary. The deer undergoes a rehabilitation course after being transported to the park - it lasts several months. After the animal enters the normal rhythm of life, they are going to give it to a zoo or nursery, where there are decent conditions for its maintenance.

So far, the deer is cared for by zoologists who visit him in the morning and evening. The deer is fed according to all the rules: compound feed mixed with oats, mixed grass hay, dried and salted rye bread, apples, boiled carrots. The aviary is cleaned every morning, warm drinking water is changed twice a day.

The director of Gorky Park Olga Zakharova explained the bloody nose of a deer by the fact that the animal, when frightened, begins to rush around the cage. The main culprits of stress are dogs, which the locals let off the leash for a walk.

Olga Zakharova

Director of Gorky Park

The Neskuchny Garden is a favorite place for Muscovites to walk. People come here with children and friends, they arrange romantic dates here. At the same time, residents of all surrounding houses take their pets for a walk here. To our regret, most of them walk their dogs without a leash and a muzzle. When a dog sees a wild, frightened beast, it has a completely natural hunter instinct. The dog rushes to the enclosure and barks, which causes serious stress for the deer every time. He begins to rush around the enclosure, trying to escape, but every time he bumps into the net, he rips off his muzzle, especially his nose, to the point of blood. It is extremely difficult to treat his wounds, because the animal is wild and does not let anyone close to him.

All our requests not to let the dogs off the leashes and walk them in muzzles (especially since there is a law obliging to do this) are mostly ignored. For our part, we cannot forbid them to walk in the garden, since this is a public space. We can only ask that rules and laws be observed.

The Neskuchny Garden Park is a green area 6.5 km long, which is located near the center of Moscow. The territory of the complex occupies 60 hectares of land along the right bank of the Moscow River. This is one of the oldest parks in the city, preserved from the noble estate of Neskuchnoye.

Complex Neskuchny Garden: the history of appearance

The current territory of the Neskuchny Garden in the middle of the 18th century belonged to three nobles - Trubetskoy, Golitsyn and Demidov. Their estates were located on the banks of the Moskva River and were famous for their well-appointed palaces, parks and gardens.

The possessions of the Golitsyns were located in the very center. Trubetskoy's estate was famous for its "Neskuchny country house", where entertaining evenings were often held. A garden with gazebos was laid out on the territory, bridges were thrown over the streams. No less famous was the estate of Prokofy Demidov, or rather the botanical garden he created in the form of an amphitheater. On the terraces there were winter and summer greenhouses with many species of exotic plants, and rare species of birds and animals lived near the ponds.

From the 1820s to the 1840s, by decree of Nicholas I, all the estates that now cover the territory of the Neskuchny Garden were purchased in turn. The royal summer residence became the Neskuchnoye estate, this name was preserved from the country house of Trubetskoy. The territory began to be equipped anew, but most of the buildings remained in their places. The Demidov Palace became the central imperial residence and was renamed the Alexandria Palace.

The estate was in the palace department until 1917, and after that it was nationalized and became available to the people. In 1928, the Neskuchny Garden was included in the park. Gorky - new alleys, platforms and pavilions were completed.
