Information Partners:

I was interested in the exhibition of the winners of the Golden Turtle 2017 photo contest. There are noticeably fewer photographs at the exhibition than, for example, at the Primordial Russia festival, but their level, in my opinion, is much higher, although I visit Primordial Russia with pleasure every year.

Two things can become obstacles on your way to obtaining aesthetic pleasure:

  1. Lack of clear instructions on how to get to the exhibition both on the official website of the festival and on the website of the Expocentre;
  2. Lack of private car parking on the territory of the exhibition complex.

I hope the information posted in this article will help you prepare for the hike in advance and you will not encounter these obstacles.

How to get to the exhibition

By car

The nearest city paid parking lots are located on Presnenskaya embankment, 1st Krasnogvardeisky proezd and st. Antonova-Ovseenko. On all these streets, the cost of parking is 200 ₽/hour, on Sundays and holidays it is free.

Parking information for the Afimall City shopping mall.

If you want to take a walk (walk 1 km), you can also use the parking lot of the World Trade Center (Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, 12). On Sundays and holidays, the cost of parking there is 100 ₽/hour, on other days: the first two hours are 200 ₽, then 100 ₽/hour.

Metro

The nearest metro station is Vystavochnaya Filevskaya line (blue). After exiting the metro, you can enter the territory of the Expocentre from Vystavochny Lane.

If you are walking from the center along Krasnopresnenskaya embankment, you can use the entrances through checkpoint 21 and checkpoint 1A. The location of the checkpoint and buildings on the territory of the complex is also on the map posted on the official website of the Expocentre.

Entering the territory, go around the building of the temple of St. Seraphim of Sarov. Opposite the entrance to the church is the entrance to the 7th pavilion, where the festival takes place. Below on the map I marked where the entrance is and how to get to it; green mark - World Trade Center parking:

To the right of the entrance to the 7th pavilion there is a ticket office where you can buy a ticket if you have not done it in advance via the Internet.

Purchasing tickets online

Tickets can be purchased both from a desktop computer and from a smartphone / tablet, for which the official application of the festival is also available (Golden Turtle Fest in the Appstore and Google Play).

The app is buggy. For example, I could not log in through my VKontakte account and used my Facebook account.

Inside there is basic information about the festival, a program of events, a map of the halls.

By clicking on the "Buy ticket" button in the main menu of the application, you will receive promo code giving a 10% discount. The promotional code can be used when buying tickets both from a smartphone (the link will open in a browser, the program does not have its own functionality for making payments) and from a desktop computer. You must enter it before or after choosing the number of tickets, but before you click the "Next" button (on mobile version) or the green "Buy ticket" button (on a desktop browser).

Choose your ticket carefully, because in some cases you can save money. For example, there are single tickets for a family with children, which will cost less than buying adults and children separately. By specifying the desired ticket, you will find a "surprise" from the organizers in the form of a service fee, albeit slightly, but increasing the cost of tickets. Unpleasant, but true.

Everything else is standard. Click "Next" or "Buy a ticket", specify the bank card details, email address and phone number, again "Next" or "Buy a ticket", and you will receive an email from the Tickets Cloud booking system with an attached pdf-file of the ticket to the specified email . In the letter, you may be confused by the phrase: “In the attached file - an electronic ticket. Print it out and show it at the entrance. But, fortunately, it turned out that you can do without this archaic thing (what kind of electronic ticket is linked to a printer?): the ticket has a QR code that controllers scan from the screen of your smartphone with a special portable terminal. For comparison, in January of this year, in order to get to the Primordial Russia exhibition at the Central House of Artists, I had to print a ticket on the administrator’s work computer, since the turnstiles at the entrance did not scan the code from the smartphone screen.

QR code on e-ticket

If you like the photos, before leaving, you can buy an album with them (print quality is excellent), as well as postcards, large framed photos and magnets. An album costs 900 ₽, a magnet 100 ₽, a postcard 15×20 cm 50 ₽, a photo in a frame 600 ₽.

The XI International Wildlife Festival The Golden Turtle, which will be held in Moscow from October 14 to November 5 at the Expocentre on Krasnaya Presnya, will set a record for the number of participating countries. This year, the exposition of the finalists has turned into a large-scale interactive project with a photo quest, vr-film screenings, creative meetings with world photography stars. A special highlight of the Golden Turtle 2017 was the incredible exposition of the legendary photographer Michel Roggo, a world-renowned specialist in photographing fresh water bodies and their inhabitants.

Rogge created his works as part of a large-scale art and environmental action "Freshwater Project" ( The Freshwater Project started in 2001 and continued for more than 7 years. This time the exposure of the photographer is 20 pairs of photos from different regions of the world reflecting the uniqueness of the underwater environment and the features of the terrestrial landscape of Lake Baikal, the national parks of Brazil, the rivers of the province of Quebec, nature reserves in China, the coasts of Australia and the rivers of Botswana.

According to Julia Knoll, curator of creative competitions of the festival, the work of such a photographer as Roggo is often fraught with risk to life, because shooting takes place in ice-covered lakes, seething high-mountain rivers, and wild jungles.

For such work, the photographer uses equipment for snorkeling and diving, all kinds of devices and even radio-controlled equipment.

Well, the central place of the "Golden Turtle" -2017 was occupied by the works of the finalists of the competition - the most amazing wildlife photographs taken this year and selected from almost 10,000 works sent by participants from 92 countries of the world.

According to Andrey Sukhinin, president of the festival, part of the exposition will be an exciting quest, the participants of which will be able to compete for special prizes. Under the terms of the quest, you need to listen to all the audio descriptions of the photos containing clues, complete the necessary tasks and get the "keys" in order to get to the prizes with their help.

It is noted that Tutta Larsen, Maria Sittel and even Mikhail Shirvindt took part in the recording of the audio guide.

An additional interactive festival is provided by a VR cinema with a 360-degree view. This time, he will take everyone to the "Reserved Russia", which will turn from a movie into a real reality for the audience!

Charitable Foundation for Social Support "My Equator" is the owner of the rights to organize and hold the "Golden Turtle" Festival. Funds collected by the fund are used to perform operations on children from one to 18 years old suffering from serious illnesses, including congenital heart defects of varying degrees of complexity.

The name of the foundation is not accidental: for many children, a life-saving operation is the “equator” between illness and health, between a world of limitations and a full life. The main goal of the Foundation's work is to help its wards safely cross it.

The foundation has several successful charity events aimed not only at raising funds, but also at educating children, popularizing creative activities and disseminating information about wildlife and its inhabitants.
