Translation of the exam into social studies grades

Hundreds of thousands of graduates will take USE in social studies 2017. As you can see, there is not much time left for preparation, and although this subject is considered relatively easy, it is advisable to start working on tasks right now. Note that social science is the most popular optional subject, which is extremely fond of students. In addition, many liberal arts universities require a grade for this discipline in the graduate certificate.

So that students do not relax in the bowels of the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as in the State Duma, they have already begun to develop a number of innovations that can change the social science testing system in order.

Changes

The innovations listed below can still be regarded as rumors and conjectures, but this can happen and already in 2017 they will all be involved in the procedure for passing the exam in social science.

  1. Social studies is a compulsory subject. This proposal has long been on the lips of specialists close to the education system in Russia. In addition to this subject, history, physics and a foreign language may become mandatory. Of course, history has more chances, because officials are already extremely concerned that not all students are fluent in the history of the development and formation of their state.
  2. Introduction of an extensive oral part. This innovation is still at the stage of discussion. The parliamentarians intend to shorten the test part, and put oral blocks in its place, which the student will have to hand over personally to the examiner. Let's say more, some experts suggest making this exam oral.
  3. The subject will be removed from the exam. Yes, such a proposal has already been submitted to the State Duma for consideration. This is provoked by the fact that every year there are fewer technical workers. In order for more graduates to enter specialized universities for some time, social science may disappear from the list of subjects submitted to the exam. Let's hope that this innovation will remain only at the stage of conversations.

Evaluation criteria

In 2017, the graduate knowledge assessment system will not undergo any changes. For each completed task, the student receives a certain number of points, which are combined into a single amount. Thanks to a specially designed scale, the primary ones received by the student are transformed into test ones. It is on the basis of the latter that the commission decides whether the graduate has passed the exam or not.

The structure of the exam in social science

In total, the exam in this subject provides for 29 tasks, divided into two blocks.

Tasks 1-20 (block 1) - questions or tasks that require short answers in one word or one number.

Tasks 21-29 (block 2) - each question requires a detailed reasonable answer. Examples, arguments and other evidence are welcome to make the answer broad and correct.

As a rule, this state exam tests knowledge in the following sections:

  1. Man and society
  2. Right
  3. Economy
  4. Politicians
  5. social relations

Literature for preparation

To pass the Unified State Exam in social studies with excellent marks, you need to spend a lot of time reading books. Given the fact that more than one subject is submitted for the exam, the correct literature should be selected so as not to waste time on inappropriate manuals. Below is a list of textbooks that will certainly come in handy while preparing for the exam.

This literature is designed specifically for those who want to prepare in advance for the exam. Some manuals are aimed at the formation of correct theoretical knowledge. They have all the sections that are submitted to the exam. It is noteworthy that all information is presented in a short form, focusing on the main theses.

Demo version of the exam in social studies

If you want to feel for a while how it is to pass the exam in social studies, FIPI specialists update the demo version of the exam every year. Each eleventh grader can visually assess the complexity of the test, as well as get acquainted with the approximate tasks. In addition, students will be able to earn points for completing the demo.

This approach allows you to prepare graduates for the future and set it up for a positive result of knowledge testing.

It's worth noting that the demo is just a rough picture of what to expect on a real social studies exam. The demo version usually includes the following items:

  • Instructions with the rules for filling out forms
  • Information about the blocks that are included in the social studies exam
  • Criteria for assessing knowledge
  • The amount of time allotted for the student to solve all problems
  • List of literature that can be used during preparation for the test
  • Rules of conduct for students during the exam
  • The total number of tasks in all blocks of the exam in social studies.

conclusions

In order for every student of a comprehensive school to feel confident in the exam in this subject, it is necessary to start preparing for it now. The method of preparation depends on the capabilities and desires of the eleventh grader.

Someone turns to tutors for help, someone decides to read specialized literature and prepare for the test on their own, someone, having united in groups, repeats and consolidates the material covered step by step. It does not matter which method you choose, the main thing is that it brings the desired result.

Videos news

Surely, from the first days of the school year, not only future school graduates think about the USE, but also their parents, who are worried about their children, about whether their children will be able to successfully pass a difficult test in the form of mandatory exams and certifications in school education.

And it’s probably not in vain that they worry, because this is a kind of pass to higher educational institutions and a rather difficult test for which you need to prepare hard - sit down more closely at textbooks, forget about evening adventures at discos, and attend additional classes and go to courses, especially in those subjects which are in question.

All of the above takes a lot of time, diligence, effort and patience.

That is why future graduates of school institutions who have to take exams should set themselves up with responsible preparation for future exams, from the very first days of the upcoming academic year.

But at this stage, you and I are interested in slightly different questions that do not relate to preparation, but to passing average scores, what will they be? website

Mandatory minimum and average passing scores for the USE in the 2017 academic year, as well as transitions with a scale of grades and points, that's what we'll talk about below.

Also about what a future university entrant needs, how many points he will have to score in one or another subject, and so on.

Average and passing scores of the USE 2017 - minimum

The grading system proposed below and the scale for transferring USE scores in 2017, as well as knowing about the minimum, average and passing scores, are necessary for those students who are not yet accustomed to innovation; it is difficult for them to adapt to the new scoring and scoring system. exam to their usual grades.

Indeed, schoolchildren have a certain confusion in their heads, they get lost and cannot determine exactly how many points they need to score in a particular subject during the exam, as well as how much they will receive for solving some problem. website

In a word, this article is proposed in order to understand this, in principle, not a difficult problem. Remember that in any business you need the accuracy and reliability of the information that we present to you.

The benefits of the USE score transfer scale for a student in 2017

The proposed scale for transferring grades and accrued USE scores in the 2017 academic year will help future students quickly and accurately translate the points they earn into grades they understand in order to summarize and comprehend the result, to understand the new one hundred (100) point system of assessment received by schoolchildren knowledge.

So we have come to the main topic of this article - below we present to you, as future students of Russian universities, an updated version of the scale for transferring and evaluating the results of state exams, which will be used in the 2017 academic year, and which has already passed the "tests" in the last academic season and In general, it was liked by both students and teachers.

USE scores 2017 - what's new in exams, useful?

It is so customary in our country that with the onset of the new school season, we are expecting some new products with a “chill in our souls”, which, as you know, do not make life easier for the student, but only complicate it. What to expect in the new academic year, for example, from passing the final and mandatory state exams, or attestation?

Specialists from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and relevant departments are constantly studying their own and world experience, trying to take into account the mistakes of previous test campaigns at school.

It also analyzes the abilities of schoolchildren, their potential and interest in studying at universities, as well as the ability of the latter to "process" the number of future students that is planned in the near future.

In the future, all the information received is processed and corrected in accordance with the results obtained, which makes the examination process in schools more efficient (according to specialists from the Ministry of Education). website

But all of the above does not please schoolchildren - future students, because in the desire of officials to "make their lives easier", to make passing exams more effective, like everything they have proposed, only creates unnecessary problems and considerable difficulties.

As for the holding of the unified state exam in the 2016-2017 academic year, it will most likely remain the same as it has been discussed recently. Almost all the nuances of the future examination campaign are known, although some of them are still in the plans and proposals.

Specialists from the Ministry of Education, as well as leading teachers of the country, are still discussing and finalizing the future examination company. At the moment, it is known for certain about the innovations that are guaranteed to be and which are expected.

New in the USE 2017 - innovations in exams

In the past academic years, graduates of school institutions were required to take two mandatory state exams - in mathematics and the Russian language. From the upcoming academic season, there will be one more of them, i.е. three, which we will discuss below ...

Officials from the Ministry of Education argue that the third subject as a mandatory state exam will definitely be and is urgently needed. But what kind of exam graduates will have to take in 2017 is still not exactly clear.

If you believe the rumors that have been spreading for a long time, then this will be the subject - History, although there are also such suspicions that it will become - Foreign Language. website

The choice in favor of history will most likely be justified, because it is known that the level of knowledge of the history of Russia, including world history, among modern youth is quite low, and, to put it mildly, wants some changes for the better.

On the other hand, the mandatory state exam in a foreign language is also justified and relevant. Indeed, in the modern world without knowledge of a foreign language it is very difficult to reach some heights, to fully express yourself.

So, it is not yet clear and unknown in favor of which particular subject Russian officials will choose. But in any case, the third mandatory state exam (USE) in the 2017 academic year will definitely be ...

USE subjects in 2017 - at the choice of the student

As in previous academic years, students will be able to take exams in 1 (one) subject (previously there were 2), which they choose at their discretion.

The total number of exams in 2017 remains the same - there will be 4 (3 mandatory).

If earlier a student could choose 2 exams at his own discretion, now, due to the fact that 3 (three) became mandatory, he has only 1 (one) exam to choose from.

If in the upcoming academic year the third mandatory exam is History or a Foreign Language, then one of them will fall out of the list of possible options (choose a subject of your choice). In this case, the student has the following subjects that he can choose:

Subject - Physics
--- : --- Informatics;
--- : --- Chemistry
--- : --- Story
--- : --- Biology;
--- : --- Social science;
--- : --- Geography;
--- : --- Russian literature;
--- : --- Foreign language (English, German, French or Spanish).

There is still enough time before the USE-2017 to prepare well, and it is obvious that schoolchildren - future students, are waiting for the third mandatory exam, which one is still unknown. website

First of all, they are interested in the question of whether History or Foreign Language will become the third mandatory test, and if neither one nor the other, which subject in this case will be the third and take the currently empty place in the "cherished" trio.

Did you know that one of the reasons for the introduction of the third additional state exam was the fact that schoolchildren began to successfully pass state exams on the first try much more often ...

Good luck to all schoolchildren and future students in the 2017 academic year - successfully pass everything, not only the mandatory state exams, and enter the university where you dream of studying and gaining knowledge!

USE 2017

Criteria for assessing USE scores in 2017

Some students, to some extent, perceive the minimum scores for the unified state exam as an opportunity to feel relaxed, because in fact, as he believes, he passed the USE, i.e. passed this mark. But there is a downside - in no case should you underestimate the minimum grade for the exam.

This does not even mean such a phrase as "it will do" or "and that's enough. This means that this student, who thinks like this, is not interested not only in anything, but in his future fate, for sure.
He argues in this way - he passed the required mathematics and the Russian language somehow, which means I am free and will do what I want. If earlier it was possible to somehow justify such an approach, to understand to some extent a schoolboy, albeit with a huge stretch, then at the moment it is impossible to say so, everything has changed dramatically recently.

After all, no one will argue that the information age is in the yard with rapidly changing technologies, where hard work is no longer valued, but the knowledge of a person, his ability to act and make the right decisions, as well as responsibility and professional attitude to his work.

Where do you get responsibility from that boy or girl of high school students who treat the exam in this way. And from this it all begins, how you feel about yourself, gaining knowledge, passing exams, future studies at a university or college, mastering your future profession and your life will develop.

No one hides the fact that today in Russia there are big problems with professionals in their field, specialists in various fields, and this is an excellent occasion to declare yourself, for which, first of all, you need to take up your mind and show what you are capable of, and before only in state exams, to achieve not the minimum, but the maximum score for the Unified State Examination.

Each graduate who wants to become a student of one of the universities of the Russian Federation in 2018 faces a difficult task - to successfully pass the exam, as well as to choose the right educational institution and faculty for submitting documents. The majority of 11th graders and their parents are faced with the final exam grading system for the first time and often find it difficult to find answers to the questions that arise. Therefore, we decided to shed light on important points.

In 2017-2018, the basic rules for passing the exam will not be significantly changed. This means that the 100-point system for grading final tests will still be relevant for graduates.

How is everything going?

In the course of checking the examination papers, for each correctly completed task, the graduate receives the so-called “primary points”, which, upon completion of the work check, are summed up and converted into a “test score”, which is indicated in the USE certificate.

Important! Since 2009, the scale for converting primary and test USE scores into traditional five-point grades for schools has not been officially used, because in 2017 and 2018 final exams are not included in the certificate.

Checking work is done in two ways:

  • automatically (with the help of special programs and technical means);
  • manually (the correctness of detailed answers is checked by two independent experts).

It is quite difficult to challenge the result of an automatic check. If the basic rules were not followed when filling out the answer table, the computer may not protect the result, and only the graduate himself, who did not follow a number of mandatory rules, will be to blame for this.

If controversial issues arise during the expert review, a third specialist is involved, whose opinion will be decisive.

When to expect results?

The following time limits apply by law:

  • data processing (for compulsory subjects) at the RCSC should not last longer than 6 calendar days;
  • for data processing (subjects of choice) RTsOI give 4 days;
  • verification at the Federal Testing Center should take no more than 5 working days;
  • approval of the results by the State Examination Commission - 1 more day;
  • up to 3 days to send the results to the USE participants.

In practice, from the moment of passing the exam to receiving the official result, it can take from 8 to 14 days.

Converting USE scores to grade

Despite the fact that officially in 2018 the scale for converting points in USE subjects into a five-point grade is not used, many still want to interpret their result in a more familiar "school" system. To do this, you can use special tables or online calculators.

The second method is a little easier and more convenient than searching for the desired values in the cells of a huge table. Simply select a subject (mathematics, Russian, chemistry, physics, history, English, social studies ... and other subjects), enter the data and get the desired result in a matter of seconds.

We suggest trying how simple and convenient it is to use in practice the online calculators of the USE score and its conversion to a 5-point grade.

Converting USE scores to grades

Internet systems for applicants

The academic year 2017-2018 is over, the exam has been passed, the results are known, and even the interactive scale for transferring primary scores showed that the USE result is in a fairly good range ... But, is this enough to enter the desired university?

Assess the real chances of entry, based on test scores and the minimum passing threshold set by the university.

Important! The minimum passing score is formed by the university itself. It will directly depend on the scores of applicants who apply in 2018. The more popular the specialty, the higher the passing score will be.

Often, at the TOP faculties, even 100-point results are not enough for admission to the budget. Only winners of the Olympiads, who give significant additional points, have a chance to see their last name in the lists of applicants for such areas.

In 2018, the most popular services for selecting a university and monitoring the entrance score threshold for various specialties will be:

  1. Ucheba.ru
  2. Apply online
  3. HSE calculator
  4. Postyplenie.ru
  5. Typical entrant

Finding these services is very easy. It is enough to enter their name into any search engine.

On the official website of the FIPI in the section "Analytical and methodological materials" published "Methodological recommendations for teachers, prepared on the basis of an analysis of typical mistakes of participants in the USE in 2017", it is here that you can find information about what was the average USE score in social studies in 2017.

Download document.

Table 1

Average USE score 2017 in social studies

The total number of participants in the main day of the main period of the USE in 2017 was 317,883 people, which, as in previous years, accounted for more than half (55%) of the total number of participants in the USE.

Social science is the most popular exam taken by the choice of graduates, which led to the extreme heterogeneity of the level of preparation of the contingent of exam participants. The demand for the results of the exam for admission to various specialties is due to the fact that the exam includes testing the foundations of socio-philosophical, economic, sociological and legal knowledge and provides for high requirements for the level of graduates' preparation (a high level of requirements applies even to obtaining a minimum score).

A feature of the contingent of participants in the USE in social studies is its extreme heterogeneity: a certain proportion of participants have a high level of social science training and are purposefully preparing to enter the humanitarian specialties of leading universities, but the proportion of participants with poor preparation, who at the same time are not able to pass exams in natural and exact sciences or considering the Unified State Exam in social studies as a backup option.

Average test score in 2017 it was 55.44, which is 2.3 points higher than in 2016 (53.14).

An increase in the average test score may be due to the effectiveness of a set of measures to improve the quality of checking tasks with a detailed answer (methodological materials for experts of subject commissions, webinars, the introduction of an additional condition for appointing the works of USE participants for the third test), as well as the almost complete exclusion from the number of participants in the main period exams of graduates of previous years who showed the lowest results. The percentage of participation of graduates of the current year is 98.98.

The share of participants who did not receive the minimum score in 2017 decreased compared to 2016 and amounted to 13.8% (in 2016 - 17.6%). To the circumstances listed above that influenced the increase in the average USE score, in this case, we should add the emphasis of methodological work at the federal level and the level of constituent entities of the Russian Federation on differentiated training of graduates with different potentials, assistance to students from the group “at risk of not getting the minimum score”. The number of hundred-pointers in 2017 increased compared to 2016: 142 versus 59, their share of the total number of participants doubled (0.04% and 0.02%, respectively).

In 2017, the share of high scorers increased to 4.46% compared to 2016 (from 3.11% in 2016), which is quite understandable given the trend towards an increase in the average test score and an improvement in the quality of work of subject commissions, as well as the formation methodological approaches to the organization of pre-examination preparation of USE participants.

The USE-2017 score transfer scale must be known to future applicants and high school graduates. It will be useful to them in the process of self-preparation. In particular, the scale will be needed to evaluate your answers when performing training tests. In the review, we will analyze what primary and test scores are, as well as their values for compulsory and specialized subjects. And you will also learn how these points look in the familiar five-point system.

Primary and Test Points

For each answer in KIM, the subject is awarded points. After completing the exam paper, all these points are added up. The final value is the primary points. They are also called preliminary. Then comes the turn of transferring the USE scores to the 100 point system. For these purposes, there is a very complex mathematical formula. It takes into account various statistics. As a result of scaling, the final test score appears, which is entered into the school certificate or considered by members of the university admissions committee.

« Wheret is the USE test score (according to a 100-point system), θ is the primary score, θminis a value that equals one primary point, and θmax, – score corresponding to the primary score, one less than the maximum possible.

Rounding is carried out to an integer. Zero primary score corresponds to 0 for the Unified State Examination, and 100 to the maximum possible.

Translation of USE-2017 scores into grades on a five-point scale

However, many are accustomed to evaluate their work in "fives", "deuces", "triples" and "fours". Therefore, they see all these primary and test scores as just a heap of incomprehensible numbers. To make it easier to evaluate your results, you can convert points to a five-point system.

Here's what the USE scores look like in compulsory and core subjects. The list contains primary and test (they are in brackets) points.
