Recently, in secondary educational institutions, more than ever before, the question has arisen: who should be left to study in the tenth grade, and who should go to study at a secondary vocational institution after finishing the 9th grade. This question is relevant for both teachers and parents, since no one knows their child better than they do. For example, if your child takes part in Olympiads, is an activist and generally claims a gold medal, then there can be no question of him leaving school after the 9th grade. If, on the contrary, the child attends school through force, and his grades are not good, then it is better to transfer him to a vocational school or technical school in order to change the environment and dilute his studies with work.

How to choose an educational institution where your child will continue studying? Currently, there is a large list of technical schools, colleges of various specifications and directions. To choose a suitable educational institution, use several general rules.

1. First, let's look at the emerging prospects. Before making a final decision on where to send your child, first find out whether these institutions have agreements with universities.

Moscow College of Space Instrument Engineering (m. Baumanskaya)

Most technical schools, colleges and vocational schools offer their students programs that are coordinated with universities, where graduates can subsequently continue their education without any problems. Then find out about the internship, whether this educational institution has agreements with specialized enterprises that provide internships and, possibly, further employment.

2. When choosing an educational institution, certain bonuses are also useful and pleasant. For example, there are technical schools and vocational schools that offer their students to obtain several qualifications at the same time. This means that upon graduation, your child will receive several “crusts” at once, and this is profitable and promising. For example, an educational institution specializes in training personnel to work in a car service center. Therefore, in addition to the main subjects of this specialty, traffic rules and driving are taught here, therefore, the student receives a driver's license. And this is already a big plus, since today attending individual driving courses is an expensive pleasure, not accessible to everyone. Also find out about the possibility of a deferment from the army, because this will allow you to complete the training process efficiently.

3. Some statistics. According to experts, there is currently an increase in demand for training in technical schools, colleges and vocational education institutions. This is due to the fact that young people strive to escape from care and start earning their own money as early as possible, and also because many employers are showing increased interest in such graduates.

4. In addition, many colleges offer a stronger knowledge base than school, and the teachers at such institutions are often more highly qualified. According to statistics, only 27% of students leave school at the insistence of their parents, the remaining 73% make their own decisions.

5. Most importantly, when making a decision, study the statistics to understand what specialty will be in demand by the time your child graduates.

You can, for example, take a career guidance test, which can be found on the Internet. This will give you an idea of what your child is more predisposed to.

Advantages and disadvantages of studying after 9th grade:

Advantages:

  • an in-depth program in the chosen specialty, unlike if you continue studying at school until grade 11;
  • early maturation, although this point is controversial, since not everyone matures in the right direction;
  • there will be a profession. If you go to university in the future, this will be a significant advantage;
  • after graduating from a secondary educational institution, you can immediately enroll in the second or third year of a university;
  • no need to take the Unified State Exam. For many, this point will be enough to go to school immediately after 9th grade;
  • a lot of practice;
  • employment;
  • Studying in secondary educational institutions is becoming more and more promising. Most likely, a multi-level education project will be implemented very soon, involving the stages of school - college - university.

Flaws:

  • children are easily influenced by bad influences;
  • Having graduated from college, most of the graduates no longer want to get a higher education - they already have a profession and that’s enough;
  • not all colleges are equally useful, here you need to choose thoughtfully, carefully, otherwise you can end up in an educational institution where they won’t teach you anything;
  • if you choose a university that does not cooperate with the college, you will have to study 1 year longer;
  • no deferment from military service for the duration of subsequent studies at a university.

For such a step, you have a good basis called “basic general education.” For the sake of fairness, we admit that not only you have it, because institutions of secondary vocational education also accept those who have completed 11 grades. But the older guys will apply under different conditions.

In order not to get confused, you need to act according to special regulations - according to the rules for the youngest applicants.

  • GIA results;
  • six 3x4 photographs;
  • medical insurance policy;

Take submission of documents seriously. Before you go to the admissions office, go to the educational institution’s website and check if any other certificates are required: this may well be the case. Just in case, make copies of all documents so that you don’t have to run around looking for an available copy machine later.

Deferment from the army

Are you graduating from ninth grade and have decided to continue your education at a secondary specialized educational institution? Congratulations to you! While teachers are preparing for a tedious two-year training of high school students to pass the Unified State Exam, and future students of the 10th and 11th grades are in the dark about what specialty they should choose, you have already begun to act and climbed the first step of the ladder leading to adulthood.

What documents are needed for admission?

The list of documents that must be prepared and submitted to the admissions committee proves that you are growing up, because it includes:

  • passport, but if suddenly you don’t have one yet due to age, then a birth certificate;
  • original certificate of incomplete secondary education;
  • GIA results;
  • an application in the prescribed form, you will write it at the admissions committee;
  • six 3x4 photographs;
  • medical insurance policy;
  • medical certificate in form No. 086/u (to obtain it, you need to undergo a medical examination so that it is written in the document that you have no contraindications to study in the chosen specialty).

What exams do you need to pass?

Entrance tests for secondary vocational education institutions vary. They can count the state exam, or they can arrange a test and dictation. They can get by with just Russian and mathematics, or they can also conduct an interview. Information regulating this appears on the websites of educational institutions in the spring, and at the end of admission it is removed so that no one is guided by last year’s admission conditions, which are often outdated.

The Russian language is a mandatory entrance test, so some of the GIA results will definitely come in handy. Mandatory final certification is the same: Russian and mathematics. At school, exams are offered by choice: in the traditional form or in the GIA format. You can strengthen your preparation in subjects that are important for admission or a future profession at preparatory courses at a specific educational institution.

Acceptance of documents ends no later than a few days before the start of the academic year. The maximum number of paid college places is fixed in the college license, but with good grades it is possible to enroll, so there is no need to be afraid.

Duration of training

An educational institution may offer different terms of study in the same specialty - from 2 to 4 years. In two years you will master the basic level of the profession, and over a longer period you will master the specialty in depth. The first option does not mean deliberate laziness. You may prefer it if you are going to build a complex educational path and subsequently obtain other professions, but do not want to become an eternal student. Choosing the second option indicates a serious approach to the matter.

Deferment from the army

Students of secondary specialized educational institutions who entered after the ninth grade are granted a deferment from the army for the standard period of study, but no later than the moment they turn 20 years old.

Additional admission requirements

The all-Russian procedure for admission to technical schools, schools and colleges was introduced by the corresponding order of the Ministry of Education. However, educational institutions are not prohibited from making their own additions to the rules that do not contradict the law. Follow the news: call the admissions committee, ask questions, and, of course, read the materials on our website.

I'M A TEACHER! AT FIRST I THOUGHT OF SIGNING WITH A Pseudonym, AND THEN I DECIDED NOT TO HIDE THE NAME - I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG AND GOD FORBID I’M NOT GOING TO DEFAME MTKP OR MSTU - EVEN MORE THAN 10 YEARS AGO, MY DAUGHTER GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY.
I AM VERY GRATEFUL TO THE DEPUTY. DIRECTOR N. N. KOVZEL FOR HELP, FOR THE DESIRE TO ACCEPT CREATIVE IDEAS, DIRECTOR. BY THE DEPARTMENT OF MYAGKOVA N.N., WHO ATTENDED MY CLASSES.
I AM ALSO VERY GRATEFUL TO MY COLLEAGUES - FIRST OF ALL TO THE HISTORY TEACHERS - CREATIVE, DECENT PEOPLE. A TEACHER MUST SERVE HIS JOB - AND THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM.
AND NOW WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SPECIFIC PEOPLE - AND THE CONCLUSIONS. IN SHORT: I WRITE OUT OF DESPAIR!
1. Suddenly, for some unknown reason and without any professional need, the director decided to change the teachers of literature, Russian language and speech culture in the 2nd year groups, although traditionally the teachers who taught literature and Russian language in the 1st year groups continued to teach the discipline “ Culture of Speech” at 2. And traditionally, the distribution of groups was handled by the deputy. Director of Academic Affairs, because He knows the students and teachers better. A change of teachers will have a negative impact on the work of all groups - all the time will be spent getting to know the students, and all work will become formal. This is tantamount to depressurization - only on a different level.
This situation does not suit the students, the teachers themselves, or the parents. But this doesn’t matter to the director at all! What's important? Personal hatred towards a specific person - i.e. towards me personally! For what? And because a year ago they wanted to take someone else’s place, either a relative, or an acquaintance, or a lover. By the way, students told me about this - those whose classes had already ended in December last year - so at least for this reason there was no need to “invent” something.
And the fact that human life is being destroyed - what difference does it make - after all, for the director, people are “garbage”, “consumables” that can be used and “thrown away” as unnecessary!
They hired me after looking at my portfolio, and I didn’t get any worse. I have external reviews of programs in the disciplines that I teach. And how many creative projects the students and I have done! THIS YEAR, 17 TECHNICAL SCHOOL STUDENTS AND I DID NOT JUST PARTICIPATE, BUT HELD A TRADITIONAL INTER- UNIVERSITY CONFERENCE AT THE INSTITUTE. A. A. GRIBOEDOVA. BUT IT WOULD BE VALUE IF SOMEONE ELSE DID ALL THIS!
I came to work in a state educational institution, not even in a private company, and certainly not as someone’s “maid” - but it feels like you are on a serf estate or on a slave plantation, where everything depends on the “will of the owner.” ".
I repeatedly appealed to the director in memos with a request to give me the opportunity to continue working with the group, with which I had a good, creative relationship (I won’t name the group now - and many people know that) - but my statements were ignored by the director. The students signed an appeal to the director - but the director also ignored their requests - who are they to the “supreme deity”?
On June 27, 2019, six parents of this student group came to the director about this issue. The director, even towards adults, behaved incorrectly - he stubbornly did not want to listen to the parents, he asked the name of the group several times, although all the parents were registered in advance.
And also. The director insulted me as a teacher in front of my parents! On the issue of "corporate ethics". To be honest, this was the first time I encountered this - I think my parents did too.
And the arguments presented had nothing to do with this group - and what serious arguments could there even be in this case? ! The main “argument” was the reluctance to change the schedule, but the schedule could not be drawn up - because recruitment was still underway. And how can a schedule be more important than human destinies? ! As a result, some of the parents felt bad - because no one expected such treatment.
The director loves to refer to the notorious “Convention on the Rights of the Child,” which states the right of children to express their opinions - so why in this case is the appeal of students and parents ignored. HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE TRUE ATTITUDE TOWARDS STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS - OBVIOUSLY, YOU CAN ONLY “RESPECT” THOSE WHO CAN, SORRY, “SHUT YOUR THROATS,” AND DECENT PEOPLE CAN BE INTIMIDATED AND THEIR CHILDREN BLACKMAILED! IS THIS THE NORM OF COMMUNICATION, THE NORM OF DECENCY? ! AREN'T WE ASHAMED IN FRONT OF OUR PARENTS? !
In this group, in the 2nd year, all the teachers who continued to teach the discipline remained, except for me. The director has one desire - to hurt me! And to do this, you can “drive a tank” through the human dignity of students and parents. Sorry, the psychology of “feudal tyrants” or camp guards. That’s where the terrible word “dehumanization” came from!
GENTLEMEN, IS IT NOT CLEAR THAT THIS ATTITUDE DOES NOT DO ANYONE HONOR AND DISGRACES THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION? ! I HAVE NOT WRITE AND I AM NOT GOING TO WRITE NEGATIVE IN GENERAL ABOUT THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY!
2. So, let's continue. At the very beginning of the school year, the director said that I would never be treated with respect, no matter how hard I worked - also for some unknown reason. Although - what am I talking about - “understandable”, of course! And for the same “reason” he will take into account only what he considers necessary - in fact, what he wants! If one of my colleagues on the commission did half, even a third of what I did, they would be praised “to the skies”, but I could be DESTROYED!
3. In the 21st century, when many educational institutions have their own churches, the director is essentially persecuting Orthodox people! At the same time, it allows sectarians to work with students. No comments!
4. Just as the master had a clerk, so the director has “faithful servants” - I apologize, but what do you call a person who, for the sake of pleasing, is ready to sign something that he is not supposed to sign according to his position, and accuse his employee of chauvinism for justly made remarks? a student of non-Russian nationality? ! By the way, Chauvinism (French Chauvinisme) is “an ideology, the essence of which is to preach national superiority in order to justify the “right” to discriminate, exploit and oppress other peoples.” Who "oppressed" whom? !
The one who signed this must be held accountable for such an accusation - that is, Mrs. O. V. Sakerina, who, moreover, allowed herself to draw conclusions based on the words of students whom she does not teach and has never seen! Comments are also unnecessary. And also, one of her favorite “activities” is collecting rumors from corners and bringing them to the director’s office. And create conflict situations - after the PCC meeting, two memos were written to Ms. Sakerina at once.
Or what to call a person who, for the sake of pleasing, asks at a parent meeting to write a paper against an “undesirable” teacher. By the way, in one group the parents refused, in the other many did the same.
5. Here are the words of one of the student reviews, which I copied: “Director Kireev is a unique PR man for his YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYA. How the rector of Baumanka tolerates him and why, the question is.”
And the most disgusting thing is that on an issue for which my parents went to the director and received insults and threats, my parents and I came to MSTU on July 4, 2019. They came with the hope of justice. And then periodically we called the vice-rector’s reception, but the secretary answered us that the issue had not been resolved - and we did not have the opportunity to talk with the vice-rector himself - he was either “not there” or “he had a meeting.” And so a month passed! Gentlemen, such issues can be resolved by simply picking up the phone, because such actions - or rather, their absence - force people to do something.
Mister VICE RECTOR! (I WILL NOT GIVE YOUR LAST NAME) WE TRUSTED YOU! REMEMBER THE EYES OF YOUR PARENTS SITTING IN FRONT OF YOU. HOW COULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO DO THIS TO US? ! YOU HAVE ICONS IN YOUR OFFICE! IS IT ALL FOR THE SAKE OF THE DIRECTOR? !
6. And finally, when distributing the teaching load for the 2019-2020 academic year, I was given a little more than half the rate, although I am a full-time teacher - while all other teachers of literature and the Russian language received more than the rate! Also “in retaliation”! In “revenge” for the fact that I did not vacate the place that one of the protégés was aiming for. At the same time, Mrs. Sakerina publicly insulted me.
The director deprives me of the opportunity to both work and leave, and even find a part-time job, because he does not sign the submission for the category, despite all the merits and positive reviews. You will have to go to the university with documents! He promised, of course, full-time wages - but, firstly, this is humiliating, and secondly, how can you trust such promises? ! HE IS ESSENTIALLY TELLING ME THAT I SHOULD DIE TO PLEASE HIM!
We can continue for a long time! For example, how one of my “colleagues” (I won’t give my last name) tried to get material from that same Interuniversity Conference through a student from my group. Get behind my back. But the director said that there was nothing wrong with this and that he would not pay attention to it.
Mister DIRECTOR! IF YOU WANTED TO HURT ME, THEN REJOICE - YOU SUCCESSED!
I HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE DAY OF VACATION WHERE I DON'T THINK ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING! DOES THIS MAKE YOU EASIER?
BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO ANSWER FOR EVERYTHING SOMEDAY! WE ALL, ME AND MYSELF, HAVE LIVED A MOST PART OF LIFE! IS IT POSSIBLE TO NOT EVEN TORTURE YOUR CONSCIENCE? ! IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE TO LOOK BOTH STUDENTS AND EVEN YOUR OWN FAMILIES IN THE EYES AFTER THIS? !
MAYBE IT IS EASIER TO STILL RESPECT PEOPLE? !
AND THE LEFT FOR YOU TO PROBABLY ONLY IS TO KILL ME!
